Thorne's Choleast is a wonderful product! My cholesterol index improved dramatically from the year before I started taking it, to the next year when the doctor checked it again! He wanted to know what I had done to change it....I told him Red Yeast Rice or "Choleast" with Q10...from Thorne Research. He said he didn't think that would make a difference...well, I told him I had not changed much else, and he needed to start believing in what he saw in the tests in front of him! I am a medical professional myself, and I can tell you others who have had dramatic improvement in their cholesterol taking this medication!! And I only take one pill a day, others have been taking two...it really works!

I started taking Choleast a little over a month ago. My doctor just did a blood test and my LDL is DOWN 60 points! My good cholesterol is UP 8 points. My cholesterol has not been this good in over 10 years. This is the best product I have used in years. I can't recommend it highly enough. I am so happy I didn't have to take statin drugs. Thrilled!

My doctor put me on Thorne Research - Choleast (red yeast rice)to control cholesterol. Apparently the active ingredient is levostatin but it comes naturally with other substances which mitigate the side effects often experienced with pure statins, e.g. muscle ache/weakness. Red yeast rice is not a controlled drug so different brands contain different quantities of active chemicals. My doc has found Choleast to work for his patients, he said.

My doctor suggested I take Choleast brand to lower my cholesterol. It had amazing results. My total number went down 70 points in under 3 months. Unfortunately I had to discontinue use of it because I finally realized that the terrible lower back pain I was experiencing was connected it to the red yeast rice. Beware that it acts as a statin and therefore carries with it the same side effects that you may experience from statins, which include muscle pain. For me the pain was so bad that I ended up at a pain center for evaluation. I may be the rare individual who experiences side effects, but be on the lookout for any new pain issues when you start taking this.

Despite being a slim vegetarian who exercises regularly, my cholesterol was too high. I did not want to take statins because of the possible side effects. On my naturopathic physician's recommendation, and at the dosage she recommended, I started Thorne Research's CHOLEAST. It works! The reduction was quite dramatic, but because it is so potent and effective, this is a product that should be taken only under the supervision of a trained naturopathic physician. It has been used in the Orient for many years.

I am 43 yeas old female , recently I discovered that I have very high cholesterol my doctor put me on Crestor for 1 month It did not worked miracles for me but after using this product for 3 month I was very surprised to see my blood work, not even my total cholesterol went down but my good cholesterol mooved up in 3 point!!!

I took choleast for 7 weeks and dropped 80 points on my cholestrol. Because red yeast rice is not regulated as a drug, different products may provide different results. I found the Choleast to be very useful without the statin muscle pain I had with two different statins. Highly recommended.

I am 60 yr old man whose total cholesterol and LDL has been inching up each year. In December '09 it was 206 and LDL 134. My chiropractor/kinesiologist put me on Choleast the beginning of June. I've taken one a day (600mg of red rice yeast) and in two months my total went down to 192 and LDL to 112. And my HDL rose from 58 to 66. My triglycerides went down from 71 to 68. My doc said I could keep taking Choleast. He said it has worked for some of his other patients. I could tell he was pleased with the results as he read them over the phone to me. I also take one capsule of Omega 3 and flush-free Niacinamide. I have no side effects from Choleast.

As someone who is severely allergic to dairy, I found out the hard way that all, yes ALL, pharmaceutical cholesterol meds are made with dairy. In desperation I turned to this product. And, the amazing thing was the results. In 12 weeks my cholesterol dropped by 125 points and my triglycerides by 150 points. I did not change my diet, my exercise routine or anything else so I attribute the amazing results to Choleast. If you cannot tolerate prescription cholesterol meds or want to get away from the unpleasant side effects, I recommend this product highly.

Used Thorne Choleast for 6 months now, took another cholesterol test, all readings are now back to normal (total dropped from 230 to 165). I recommend this product and have told several friends about the results. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
