Product Description

Product Packaging: Standard Packaging

Thorne Research Veterinary CurcuVET-SA50, 90 Vegetarian Capsules CurcuVET is a unique curcumin extract that is significantly better absorbed than other curcumin extracts. Whether taken as a supplement or from food, curcumin is generally poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. Curcumin has demonstrated its potential to help maintain the animal's normal inflammatory response. In numerous animal studies, curcumin has shown the ability to help maintain healthy intestinal mucosa under various adverse conditions. Several studies have illustrated curcumin's hepatoprotective effects, leading researchers to suggest its use can protect the liver from exogenous insults from environmental toxins. Curcumin also has the capacity to increase both the flow and solubility of bile. Curcumin's hepatoprotective effects are due in part to direct free radical scavenging; but curcumin also enhances the animal's natural antioxidant system, which increases glutathione levels, thereby aiding in hepatic detoxification and inhibiting nitrosamine formation.

Cancer had disfigured my cat. made her look like the Elephant Ma, and the vet gave her 6 weeks to liven. I heard some talk radio shows talking about tumeric and curcumin, so I figured I'd try it on her. The experts say that it needs bioperine (an ingredient in black pepper) to activate it, so I open the capsules and spoon a good amount of black pepper into it, before closing it up and giving it to my cat (and washing it down with a syringe of water).

Several weeks after beginning, my cat's face went back to normal, no more swelling, and it's been almost a year. You'd never know she ever had a problem. So whether it's the Curcu Vet or divine intervention, I don't know. But I will continue giving her a capsule with pepper every day for as long as she's still here with us. And I am now taking tumeric myself on a daily basis (http://www.abigon.com/buying_turmeric.html).

So far, so good!

I bought my Pomeranian bear from a rescue at petco three years ago he was a breeder at a puppy mill and when I took him home every day when he would poop he would strain so much he would bleed my mom suggested this and takes a pill every day since. He does not strain and no more diarrhea. This medicine has helped him so much and I will continue to use it.
