Pride's last race is a wonderful story about a horse having the best year of his life! He has been named Horse of the Year. His Co-owners,Clay Townsend and Ashleigh Griffen, and his beloved friends, Samantha McLean, Mr.Mclean, Len, and Mike Reese are sooo proud of him!! But then a fateful thing happens on a winter's night. Pride gets a deadly illness!! Everybody gets very worried about him!! I strongly suggest that you read this story about never letting go of your dreams and beliving in the unbelivable!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, December 29, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Thoroughbred #10 Pride's Last Race (School & Library Binding)
This book was fantastic! I love Pride and Samantha. Pride finishs his wonderful 3 year-old racing career and Ashleigh and Samantha can't wait for his 4 year-old season. But, when Samantha and Tor come back from a dance and go check on Pride he is laying down and wildly thrashing his legs. Read the book to find out what happens.

Wonder's Pride has just had the best year of his life!First he ran to a excellent victory in the Breeders' cup race. Then he was named horse of the year. Pride's trainers, Samantha McLean and Ashleigh Griffin, can't wait for the start of another spectaculer year. But on the verge of his five year old season,Pride devoleps a deadly illness.Pride will never race again-he may even die.! Everyone says that there's no hope for Pride, but Samantha refuses to give up on him.Can her determination save the famous horse? I personally thought that this book was absoulutly touching! I recommend this book to readers everywhere!

A Kid's Review
Im soo happy Pride didnt die and Im also glad he wont be over raced no more and lives at Whitebrook. Pride is a great horse. How he wins and tries his hardest in his races and fights through the colic. He is one of Wonders best offsprings I know. He really has Wonders heart to win and please the ones he loves. I kinda wish he would still race but this will be best 4 him after he had a great racing career.[...]

5.0 out of 5 stars An unforgettable volume in a series worth saving, February 16, 2005
A Kid's Review
This is a truly rare book in children's fiction; a well-written equestrian adventure that takes you into the fast-paced world of horse racing. There are parts of this book that will move you to tears, others will have you cheering on the edge your seat - even if that seat is an armchair. Unfortunately, Harper Collins has decided to end the series abruptly after #72. With such a dedicated following and online fan base with members from all over the world, this is a classic and beloved series that has inspired many people and provided horse fans with vicarious thrills and adventure. Ashleigh saved Wonder, now it's up to you to help save Thoroughbred. Go to www.whitebrookfarm.com and join the effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book in the Series, August 6, 2001
This review is from: Thoroughbred #10 Pride's Last Race (School & Library Binding)
This book was sooooo good!I loved the bond that Samantha and Pride had. They really cared for each other.I cried when Pride got sick.I thought he might not make it.I love everything about this series except for Cindy.Cindy was the downfall of the series. But still I loved this book. The only thing I have to complain about is that on page 93,they said Blues King was a gelding.Yet in the books later on(book #25 page 72 for example)they say he is a stallion.Other than that, this book was great.

5.0 out of 5 stars A VERY GOOD BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!, March 7, 2001
By A Customer
This is an awesome book!! It is very sad and very good at the same time. I cried when Pride almost died. The best part of the book is when he got named Horse of the Year and beat Brad's and Lavinia's horse, Lord Ainsley, to get it. But after the Breeder's cup and heading into his five-year-ols season, Pride comes down with a deadly disease. Only with Samatha's and Ashleigh's love for Pride did he recover and moved back to Whitebrook from the clinic. That was the ultimate best part in the whole book. It was realy cool how he recovered in the night with Samantha's love and care. Then did Pride noticed that he had to get better to be with the people he loved and he improved in just 12 hours!!!
