5.0 out of 5 stars Finally!
Melanie's back as the main character, for the first time since Dead Heat! Mel's fallen for Perfect Image, a spirited black filly. The olny thing is, Image has a major attitude problem! She's uncoperative and comes across as a female Gratis. Melanie is determined to make Image into a winner, but do they have what it takes? This book was great, I think that Thoroughbred...

I'll start by saying I don't like the way this book began. You're just thrust right in. There isn't an introduction. Nothing is really explained. When you are told the details they're spat out and harried sounding. This whole book is rushed. I understand that if you write these books they have to be condensed due to lack of time and to the readers they're aimed at. But...

She's uncoperative and comes across as a female Gratis. Melanie is determined to make Image into a winner, but do they have what it takes? This book was great, I think that Thoroughbred have improved alot over the last few books. Image is a real character, unlike Star and Sterling. You get a feel for what she really could be like. It's great that they've finally given Mel a horse of her own. Take my advice and read this. You won't be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whitebrook Jockey!, December 14, 2000
I've started a Super Edition about Cindy and why she went to New York! I have that whole plot down and everything! I'm 16 and have won several literary awards for my poems and short storys since I was young! I've been writing since I was young and could read by the time I was two! I've been a TB fan since I was seven and know everything, including that it was Cindy's Honor, not Ashliegh's Christmas Miracle when Ash fell pregnant again. If you want Whitebrook Jockey to happen and if you want me to go to Harper Collins vote yes! It's now or never! Cindy McLean has been given the offer of her life from a well known New York trainer. It would mean riding and working with a colt called Black Tempest, a powerful, but unproven horse. It would mean getting her full licence and even more fame after her Dubai win. It would mean leaving Whitebrook and all her beloved horses behind. Is Cindy about to make the biggest mistake of her life,or will she show them all? Let me get this book to the press people! Thoroughbred should be written by an expert, not some writer who's only in it for the money! VOTE FOR WHITEBROOK JOCKEY BY CLICKING YES!

5.0 out of 5 stars Touching story about the hidden love between filly and girl, August 19, 2000

Jackie (Blue Bell, Pa) - See all my reviews
Melanie has fallen in love with Image, and can't seem to stop thinking about her. This is a wonderfully written book, with emotions inside of it that tug at your heart strings. If you have ever found yourself in love with a horse that you need to fight for........physically and mentally, then this is the book for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME, May 5, 2001
I love this book and think anyone who likes horse books should read it. It's better than some of the other Thoroughbred books and I really like that it's about racing again. I also love all the books in the Heartland series by Lauren Brooke and Willow King by Chris Platt - they're awesome books about horses too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Book, August 3, 2000
By A Customer
This book was really great I recomend anyone who has read and liked thoroughbred books to buy this. It is mostly about Melanie and a filly called Perfect Image. Melanie tries to train her but the filly won't cooperate and seems to bring bad luck. I don't like the way it ended leaving you hanging but it was all worth it. Well If you love Thoroughbred books buy this!

Hey you guys, I think you should read this book. I live in germany and my friends in the USA send me all the Thoroughbred books. I dont mind the cost of mailing and shipping. I read these books in a bout an 1 hr. 1/2. They are soooooo good. I like this book cause Melanie is sort of like me. She finnally gets a chance to show her talent. Well, I hope they are gonna be a lot more Thoroughbred books. If you know some other good books may be you can send me some tipps about other good books. I love reading! Luv ya'll

4.0 out of 5 stars Image and Melanie......a pair to watch, June 5, 2005
A Kid's Review
I like Melanie, she is one of my favorite characters, and no one ever pays attention to her,and she doesn't get her own special horse. So this book does the job.
Image is alot like Melanie, and they totally fit. Melanie has to buy her! She works so hard with Image for it all to go to waste.....save Image, Melanie!

5.0 out of 5 stars great book!, October 21, 2000
A Kid's Review
This book is one of the best books in the series! Even though Perfect Image is spoiled rotten, she's stil a great horse. The problem of the book is Melanie wants to train Perfect Image since nobody else will. Can Melanie help Perfect Image? Read the book to find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, August 19, 2000
This book rocked. It was exciting and realistic. I still think that the books should stop switching topics, though. I mean, one book it's about Melanie and Image, the next about Christina and Star, then back to Mel and Image. It just takes away from each book. Regardless, this book was awesome, and it left me hanging. I can't wait for the next one! Write them faster!

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it., August 16, 2002

I like how Melanie finally has a horse that she' bonded with even though, there are tons of foals at Whitebrook that she could have bonded with! I mean sheesh, If I lived on a wonderful farm like that, I'd try to be bonding with my favourite foals to! But anyway, Image is real bratty and Melanie kind of turns her around which is cool. Alexis gives me the creeps, i'm glad she quits in #44, Perfect Image. Read this book, you'll like it.
