5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Vocals and Instrumentation
I don't listen to emo, I hate teenager and highschool kids, but this album has some amazing Singing and playing. This is real music burried by crap and it's a shame but thats what poor marketing leads to. 5 Stars !

3.0 out of 5 stars Fine if you like hard emo.
If you, like I, are a huge fan of their previous work this album will disappoint. Gone are the melodic counter harmonies from the enchanting voice and violin of Kerith Telestai. 1.0 out of 5 stars quite disappointing, October 7, 2008
This review is from: Those We Leave Behind (Audio CD)
ive been a ghost fan since the beginning and quite frankly this album is garbage. "Lovers Reqiuem" had parts that i just had to turn up and had to listen to repeatedly. "Those we leave" has none of that and is simply annoying to listen to. I tried like hell to love it but cringed through the entire album. If i had to put my finger on it, id say the chick leaving the band killed it. Her vocals and lyrics added soul to the music and now its just void. If you dont have "lovers reqiuem" go buy it immediately, but leave this one sitting on the shelf.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still great craftsmanship, not quite as attention grabbing, September 19, 2011
This review is from: Those We Leave Behind (Audio CD)
There's been tons of reviewers who've said they disliked and/or hated this album because of the Telestais' departure from the group, and that may be their opinions, but I still think that Juliano and the group still pulled off a wicked-cool album! The guitar work is still as technical, yet not too over-the-top, the vocal work is still attractively original (minus Kerrith's input of course), and it still flows like a fantastic post-hardcore sound! Although, in my opinion, what really made I Am Ghost stand out from the rest of the hard rock world was their use of the violins and blend of Kerrith's vocals.. adding that smooth melodic touch to every song. Again, in my opinion, that was a better sound for these guys. But, the Telestais left for whatever debateable reason - be it for her true health reasons or her dislike of where the band was aiming for as a whole, with songwriting - and the guys tried to move on. Nonetheless, the album still had the tricky yet sophisticated guitars, drums, bass, and vocal work as before. DIFFERENCES definitely included darker song writing, not as few pacey slow-downs to really focus on a chorus as with Lover's Requiem, and of course.. the obvious lack of Kerrith's violins and vocals / lyric-editing. It's those differences that made me give this album a general 4-star instead of 5. Wherever they are now (they broke up around July last year), they've still made an impact on post-hardcore history that's for sure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great from start to finish., October 25, 2008

The album is a step down from Lovers' Requiem but it is still amazing! Another great album from I Am Ghost! A must buy.
