this book is the perfect gift for any teacher! not only is it an attractive, affordable book, but the stories are beautifully written and moving. EXCELLENT!

As a teacher, I was pleased to see a positive, upbeat book about teachers. I felt refreshed and inspired after reading these essays about people who have made a difference. The accounts are beautifully written, well-organized, and insightful. The essays illustrate the idea that teaching is an art and that effective teachers have a wide variety of styles and personalities.

We have all experienced teachers who inspired, challenged, encouraged their students, who expanded worlds, opened doors, and helped to achieve educational, career, and personal goals. Those Who Can...Teach! is a much appreciated tribute to the amazing men and women who devoted their lives (often at great sacrifice to themselves) to educating children of all ages and backgrounds, who made a difference in the lives of their young charges. Those Who Can...Teach! also serves as an effective inspiration to those who aspiring to affect the world for the better by educating the minds of the next generation, and the next, and the next.

This book was great! The essayists were all beautiful writers, and the stories really took me back to my days as a student. Any teacher would love to get this book as a gift!

In a time when test scores are dropping and schools are embattled, here is a charming reminder of what dedicated teachers have done and can do. The essays are inspiring, wistful, funny, and instructive--even inspirational--but never sticky sweet. Don't give your teacher an apple--give him or her this book! (Students and former students will love it, too!)
