Excellent CD: This is a very nice live recording of Shirley Horn and is one of my favorites. The quality of the recording is quite good, and Shirley does what Shirley does best: classic jazz tunes with beautiful, understated vocals. If you like jazz, and especially if you like Shirley Horn, you should consider adding this CD to your collection.

Great Artistry Even Before a Live Nightclub Audience,

I don't usually love live recordings specially when listening to Ms.Horn's great time and space crafted sound, full of forceful silence and notes played exactly where sensibility makes you creep. But this is an exception because Ms.Horn is an exception. Don't lose the opportunity to listen to all her work. And when you graduate in listening to Horn's albums you'll know there is the studio Horn, cream of the cream; also there is the live from the big theater and from the nightclub. All five stars or more.

Well,good grief!: if there is any way to offer helpful hints, give a chance to your ears and fly to heaven with Shirley Horn, Charles Ables and Steve Williams. They play live and at the best of their own inner, creative and true selves.

This isn't a bad recording, just not as good as Ms. Horn's studio work. The performance is ok, but nothing special by any stretch of the imagination.If you like MP3's, you won't mind this one...but if your listening to something besides an HT setup, ie, real STEREO, you'll be disappointed, IMHO.
