This is one of the most simple and beautiful books you will ever find. It is not a story, but instead it is a collection of quotations from St. John Vianney. Every one of them has something for us to learn from. Also, each quotation will tell you what book it's from (or sermon etc..). Therefore, if you find a number of quotes that have helped you, then you may be able to find that book somewhere on the Internet. My only complaint is that there is not really any organization in the book,(e.g. splitting one section on purity or faith or whatever). But, that is not enough to take away from this book! It should be beneficial to anyone to meditate on the different words the great preacher from Ars spoke!!!

This book, as small as it is, contains many profound spiritual insights. Comprised of short quotes from his sermons and catechetical instruction, this book gives you a peek into the holiness and love of St. John Vianney, the Cure of Ars. In my opinion, this is one of the most inspiring little books that TAN has published. Although seminarians and priests will benefit the most from the thoughts of the "patron of parish priests," anyone seeking to grow closer the Lord will also find much nourishment.

After reading the biography of the Cure, I wanted to read some of his very words. This little book has a lot of his quotations on all different subjects. Now I just want to read more and more of what this holy man wrote!

This books contains a wonderful series of quotations from St. John Vianeey, the Cure of Ars. For quite a long time in my walk as a Catholic, I was ignorant of St. John Vianney. I wondered why he was glorified so much. Then, when I saw a parish named after him, I looked up information about him, and as it turns out he was an incorruptible, i.e., his body did not decay after he died. This has happened to only about 120 people in human history and is probably the best indication possible of holiness and sanctity.

This book confirms his position as a great Catholic saint and model for holiness. His thoughts are inspiring and encouraging and more than anything make us reflect on where we are in our walk with God and how we can grow deeper in our relationship with Him. I wholeheartedly recommend this book. Also, it will definitely inspire you to read other books by St. John Vianney.
