G-Unit member Tony Yayo delivers his first solo effort with "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon" (2005). In almost every rap group there is a weak link, in my opinion Yayo is G-Unit's. He lacks 50's charisma, Buck's flow and Bank's punchlines. He tries to make up for it some by embracing the role of the group's black sheep. After the intro Yayo opens the album up with a thugged out story on "Homicide". Two forgettable tracks pass by then 50 Cent drops in for the album's first single "So Seductive" a decent collaboration. Two solid cuts laced with banging beats follow on "Eastside, Westside" and "Drama Setter" feat. Eminem & Obie Trice. 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Olivia drop in for the collabo cut "We Don't Give a F***". A bunch of hurting commercial cuts follow, these are really half assed efforts, Yayo hooking up with the likes of Jagged Edge and Joe has zero appeal for this reviewer. Yayo delivers a semi-decent thugged out cut with "G-****". Maybe "I Know You Don't Love Me" and "Dear Suzie" are supposed to be amusing, but I honestly don't give a flying f*** about G-Unit talking about their groupies and other artists. Yayo closes off the album with one of his better tracks "Live By The Gun". Two things helped this album from being a complete write off, some impressive production and some stellar appearances from Yayo's Aftermath family- sadly every guest artist outshined Yayo. Yayo and Jim Jones are similar to be me; both lack the flow, lyrics, delivery and charisma needed to entertain an audience for a whole album. While I like G-Unit, I do not recommend picking up "Thoughts of A Predicate Felon".

This album did not make any sense to me. It's just some more commercial garbage pumped out to make money. Remember the days of Biz Markie, De La Soul, and Digital Underground. These guys all had their own style, and used humor to bring a lighter side to life in the ghetto. These days nobody is willing to stray away from the gangsta sh*t in fear they won't make money. This album is a perfect example of that. Have you seen the music video for seductive? What does the video have to with lyrics? Well that seems to be a constant theme with this album. From the title, to the lyrics, to the videos and the beats. It doesn't make any sense. I'm just waiting for Tony to come out with his own clothing line. ha! Trust me, save your money.

I had to give it 1 star but I wouldnt give it that. The people out there that think this is a good album are fanatics of GUNIT.

Im a hip hop critc I listen to ALOT of stuff before they hit the streets. And that Yayo is GARBAGE. Not because of the production but its HIM.Granted the beats are HOT like fire, but his lyrics and delivery are TRASH. Out of his whole camp Yayo flow is the weakest. There arent too many cds I would go out there and buy so i gets it black market(bootleg) b4 it drops. Honestly im mad i paid $5 for dis. But for all yall rappers if yall looking for some fire to rap over dis is it, you just gotta tune out his damn voice. Gunit is hot but yayo is not sorry..

He should have never got into the game because he is way too old and washed up and his rhymes are just garbage. The whole G Unit camp suck except for Young Buck but he is barely worth listening to also. I wish gay unit would stop making cds cause it is hurting the rap industry and causing old fans to find another genre to listen to. (...)

First off this album is gargabe. Another formulized album from G-Unit. I like a few songs "Drama Setter", "I know you don't love me", but let's be honest Yayo doesn't really bring anything to the table. I don't know how these fools are taking over the industry, but there doing it. It's these kids that just feed into the gimmick. Hopefully 50 won't tarnish the careers of mobb deep, mop (which never made an album under Rocafella moron). Alot of these kids just need to get off 50's ****. He is talented there's no denying that, but he isn't anywhere near the level of the greats (Krs-One, Rakim, Biggie, Tupac, Kool G. Rap, Big Pun, Big L, Nas, Jay-z). You are making arguments that 50 is amazing because of record sales, that isn't worth garbage if Hilary Duff made a rap album it would probably sell a million just on her fans. Does that mean shes better than any rapper that hasn't sold more? You can like G-Unit that's cool, but don't claim the original members (Yayo, Banks, 50, and Buck who came later on) are some god's of rap. 50 is a smart business man that's all and now he's surrounding himself with more talent which is smart. But dont get it twisted there are plenty of rappers far more talented than 50 (Nas, Jay-z, Eminem, Jadakiss, Cormega, Immortal Technique just to name a few) would rip this dude lyrically any day. Educate yourself and listen to some Immortal Technique. Freakin kids are gonna ruin the music we love. You say "Holla", but you don't realize Ja Rule and Jay-z made that word popular, go ask 50 for forgiveness.

Tony Yayo's new album off G-Unit records is...ok. Tony does not display the ability to write good rhymes, the lyrical content is very lackluster, at best. It is your typical G-Unit album, guns, drugs, and being a gangsta. Although the lyrics aren't that great, Yayo's voice and flow are very interesting. It could be considering annoying to a lot of people. If you aren't familiar with Yayo, he kind of has a gruff voice, that is kind of high pitched. I like it, but it probably will take getting used to.

The beats are on point all though out the album. I think the songs with the darker, harder production fit Yayo's voice and delivery better, such as "Drama Setter" and "G-****" and "Homicide". "Drama Setter" is probably the best song on the album, Eminem supplies the beat and the hook, and just like every other G-Unit release he is on tears it up. Obie Trice also drops a hot verse.

I think Yayo should have steered away from the non-gangsta tracks such as "Pimpin" and "Curious". While they aren't necesarrily bad, they just aren't Yayo's style.

So in conclusion, if you are into G-Unit or like hot beats, pick it up, give it a listen...If you are looking for lyrical content and some thing more orginal, go with "Late Registration", which for all you people that are dissapointed with no Game appearance on "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon", he does appear on Kanye's album. I'm still waiting for Young Buck to release another, and this will tie me over till then.

Now i'm a g-unit fan, and I bought this cd the day it came out because i own every g-unit cd released so far. But I was unimpressed with Yayo's cd. It almost seemed rushed. Lyrically, yayo is as basic as it gets. While he has an occasional tight punchline, he cant compare to 50, Banks, Buck, or the Game (when he was g-unit). His hooks are weak, and alot of the beats sound the same. I expected alot more from his debut, but now im wondering why g-unit was so eager for him to get out of jail? Its especcially dissapointing because supposidely Yayo has been rhyming longer than 50, but cant even compare. I would only buy this if your a diehard g-unit fan.

Despite what some people say, this album is worth buying. Yayo is on fire on this but he needs to learn how to write a good love/club song. "So Seductive" and "Curious" were good but the rest were mostly just ok. I think he should just stick to freestyling for those song since he's an ill street. However the street tracks such as "Homicide", "Drama Setter", and "Live by the Gun" are all really good. The only somewhat bad song on here is "I Get High", it was a bit funny, but it was also kind of stupid.

Tony Yayo is the 2nd reason why I despise the G-Unit movement. 50 Cent may be terrible because of his sloppy rhymes, his humongous ego, and his decision to make a feud with The Game, but hearing about Tony Yayo makes him tied up as the worst G-Unot member.

Yayo was sent to jail for gun charges, and incarcerated again for skipping out of parole. He should have stayed in jail. But no, he is set free and he cuts a song called "So Seductive", a song consisting of pop beats, weak flow, idiotic lyrics, and mindless yelling. Just take a listen to this one song and you'll get an idea on how terrible Yayo is.

Also, the album flopped and was considered one of the worst of 2005. No explanation needed here. Unless you like hip-pop, stay away from this abortion.
