This review is from: Education and Training 14-19 (Paperback)
Haunting tale of the lives of two women, one the neice of Louis XIV and the other a silk grower's daughter, who are born on the same day in 1661. One is caught in the web of royal marriage and intrigue and the other chooses her path but then is caught up in the catastrophic results of her choice. You will not forget this book. The visual imprint left by the author's vivid descriptions of their lives and worlds haunts like a beautiful, compelling nightmare.
