Is It Possible to Feel Inspired and Motivated on the Go? Yes!, November 6, 2010
This review is from: A Thousand Paths to Enlightenment (Thousand Paths series) (Paperback)
With the tempo of modern life getting faster and more demanding, very little of us have time to "stop and look around". Many of us have stacks of motivational books in our homes, but rarely do we have time to really put everything aside and enjoy a good read. That's why on the go type of the book would be so much easier: a book that you can flip open at any page, anytime, anywhere, without any lengthy introductions. It's like getting your daily dose of "reading vitamins", no matter what.
David Baird has a whole collection of those handy 4.5 x 4.5 inches pocket books. "A Thousand Paths to Enlightenment" is just one of them. The book is about 450 pages long and printed on a premium color glossy paper. 450 pages sound like a lot, but don't forget that it's a small format book, and each page has only from one to a couple of powerful sentences/quotes/sayings that sometimes are accompanied by a cool design. This small book is really different, holding a fresh perspective on things within its fancy, glossy pages. No extremes, just the pure essence of enlightenment. The navigation of this book is very easy -- just open it up at any of the given 8 chapters (The Knowledge, Sharing, Intentions, Actions, Lifewish, The Quest, Attitude, Focus). Even better to just flip it open and see where it takes you. A great read for a coffee break or in a bus/subway.

Full of enligtening thoughts, but..., January 15, 2001
I enjoy reading the large variety of enlightening sayings, parables, poetry and other thougts within its pages. The book is separated into eight key areas (or chapters): The Knowledge, Sharing, Intentions, Actions, Lifewish, Quest, Attitude and Focus. The type is clearly set within the pages in the same font family with a variety of font sizes, font styles (narrow, regular and bold) Improvements that could be made include, adding the names of the chapters in the same small print next to the page number, so the reader relates the context of the saying towards, for example, Actions. Also, only a very small handful of the 1000 thoughts include who is the originator of the saying, which sometimes is just as fascinating. Even with its shortcomings, I still recommend buying this book or one of the Thousand Path series books (i.e., A Thousand Paths to Wisdom, A Thousand Paths to Happiness) and placing at your work desk to scan and remember what's really important.
