From the Inside Flap

A Thousand Tribes

The Business-to-Everything revolution is upon us. Organizations are connecting everything and everyone, finally working seamlessly toward one, well-defined goal. A Thousand Tribes shows that a massive new capital investment is not required for this monumental shift into high-gear productivity; rather, it uncovers the power of the Internet to help your organization, like many others, achieve instant global connectivity, lower costs, and maximize the value of existing resources.

Many organizations have begun to use the Internet on a technological level to integrate the disparate systems that often hobble corporate communication and business performance. But top companies know how to take it three steps further. They see the real power of the Internet and have embraced it to make fundamental, enterprise-wide changes, transforming the way work is done. Isn't it time your company became truly global-integrated, united, and focused?

A Thousand Tribes explores several Fortune 1000 companies to uncover how they use their portals to:
* Move work to the Web
* Communicate important information instantly, enterprise-wide
* Reduce infrastructure costs
* Implement business strategy
* Increase productivity
* Drive innovation

Connecting people-both within the organization and to the resources they need to get the job done-has reached new heights. Through detailed case studies in companies great and small, you will see the tangible results of what's really happening with the Internet.

You'll read how HP, Ford, and other companies use the Internet to respond immediately to market shifts, new opportunities, and fluctuating economic conditions.

Don't continue to invest millions on proprietary systems. Take the Internet-and your company-to a higher level, and discover how Business-to-Everything can transform your organization. Join the revolution.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

3 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Joe McVeigh on May 15, 2002
Format: Hardcover
This book is a great read, and the Amazon price makes it affordable. If you are a manager, I recommend buying a few copies and passing them around the office. What a refreshing idea to quote real live examples of business change as it is evolving, rather than theoretical, conceptual possibilities. Hearing first-hand from leading corporations provides sample roadmaps to other organizations who would like to do the same thing. Fabulous. Definitely check it out.

Lissak and Bailey have more than 40 years of experience in consulting business and you can tell that from this book. Really interesting case studies and insights into HP, Ford and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Absolutely worth reading! Great book!
