5.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent
A writer who pays attention to world headlines and current events, and who will invariably draw fire from the likes of some of the characters in the book. Good read!

versus
2.0 out of 5 stars Knee-jerk naïveté
While characters are passionate, the story purports a knowledge of current events that is superficial on history and ignorant of economics--like a Michele Bachman speech.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Patriots!, November 8, 2011

I read "A Thousand Years of Darkness" and didn't want to stop. It is a must-read for every patriot left in this country. It keeps you thinking as you venture through a fast-paced read of the near future looming ahead if we don't appreciate our country and constitution. A little romance is even involved. This author knows how to write, keep our attention, and make us appreciate our founding fathers' intentions. Well thought out, as usual for this author of many pertinent historical books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Warning for America!, February 8, 2012

Make sure the coffee pot is full when you pick up Charles Sasser's book, A Thousand Years of Darkness, because, once started, you won't want to put it down. Fast-paced and always spell-binding, a story of treachery in the highest offices of the land unfolds leaving the reader breathless at scenes too close to current events to be dismissed as simply fiction. Be prepared, the ending will raise the hair on the back of your neck and you'll never read a headline or watch the news in careless fashion again.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Important American Novel Of Our Time., January 18, 2012

Not since "Atlas Shrugged" have I been so captivated by a novel with political overtones. Sasser typically captures the reader's attention immediately and holds it tightly throughout the main plot and many subplots of his stories. This novel is no different in that respect, but what sets it apart is the potential for his fictional chaos to become fact in the near future. This novel should be a five-alarm to every American who wishes to insure their children and grandchildren inherit the legacy of freedom earned by the blood of our forefathers.
