We took our honeymoon on the Holland America Oosterdam and the one thing we really wanted to try to do was recreate the feeling of luxury that we experienced on the ship - specifically, the bedding. The stewards told us it was the Egyptian cotton sheets and the mattress pad that provided that sense of luxury. So we set out to recreate that luxurious feeling in our bedding at home using the gift cards we received. We purchased a Crocsill 500tc mattress pad (reviewed separately) along with this set of sheets for our Eastern King Sleep number mattress. All I can say is WOW!

I did a bit of shopping before we made our choice. I took great care to avoid the microfiber sets because that wasn't what we wanted. We chose this set because it is true Egyptian cotton, it came in the lovely burgundy color we wanted, and it was within the budget. One reviewer remarked that the feeling is silky. I absolutely agree. The fabric is light and soft like silk, but has the loveliest sheen to it as well. I laundered the sheets before using them, and had no issues whatsoever. The pockets are very deep - our Sleep number is the mid-range model, meaning it has a pillow top but not the thickest pillow top. So I had a bit of extra pocket depth to work with, which is great... I eventually want to add a memory foam topper, and now I have the ability to do that.

Let me reiterate that these sheets are very light. If you prefer heavy sheets that feel crinkly or thick, these are not for you. However, after sleeping under them one night I can say they are just as warm as heavy sheets, and OH so luxurious! I'm completely sold on this brand! We didn't have a lot to spend, and I'm sure Holland America purchased the best bedding available to give us the stunning experience we had on the ship. But we didn't miss by too much in sticking to our budget, thanks to finding a great deal on these sheets and a fantastic mattress pad here. Until 2013 (yes, we're saving like crazy to cruise again) this will do quite nicely for us. :-)

These sheets are simply lovely. The color is rich and beautiful, and the texture is soft and almost silky. Especially for the price (at the time of purchase approx $90), these were such a steal for the quality. I have a King mattress with pillow top on both sides and these sheets fit perfectly. Even the cats noticed the difference as they migrated from napping on an afghan cover to the sheets themselves. Lovely sheets, I highly recommend them.

These are the best sheets we've ever had, they are so super silky soft, I will definitely be coming back for more!

Love these sheets. Super, rich color, nice feel. After washing, retain their color and only get more buttery soft. I bought another set in a chocolate brown.

I ordered these in burgundy and they are not burgundy. They are more of a blood red than a purple hughed red. The photo is not accurate as I ordered some burgundy drapes at the same time and they are the same color that the photo shows. I washed them already because I wasn't thinking or I would send them back. They are not as soft or high quality as I thought they would be either. There are loose seams on the fitted sheet after just one wash.

This transaction was a bit muddled. The sheets that came originally were the wrong size. I had to contact the seller to find out if they were even sending me the correct size. I am just washing the sheets to use right now and they are thinner than I am used to.

I was curious when I read so many different opinons about the same sheet sets. As I read the reviews for Royal Hotel Bedding sheets, they were very inconsistent. I went ahead a purchased this set of king sheets on October 17, 2011. The sheets were amazing! Luxurious, soft, with a beautiful sheen. On December 6, 2011 we decided to buy some sheets for our daughter-in-law and buy an additional set of the very same sheets we bought in October. To our surprise, the "same" sheets, ordered by the same order number, were stiff, rough, and felt like thin canvas. We have washed the sheets over 8 times now and the second set of the "same" sheets are no where near as nice as the first set was right out of the package. So, buyers should be wary of inconsistent reviews as the sheets they send you may be of random quality.

I've ordered high quality, high TC Egyptian cotton sheets over the past 10 years and have never been as unsatisfied with sheets are I was with these. There is no way these are 1200 TC as I could see through them when I lifted them up. I am very unsatisfied with these sheets and will never order another pair from this vendor.

Love these sheets, there the best ones I have ever had! The price was right also. The deep pockets fits by bed so good, I usually have a hard time finding sheets to fit my bed. If your looking to stay in bed for hours because yours so comfortable these are sheets for you!

This is my second set of Egyptian Cotton sheets. These have a very high thread count, which you can't always go by, but in this case, it makes them soft and gives them that quality fancy hotel feel. No problem staying on an extra thick mattress. Nice rich color. Would buy these again.
