Book Description

If someone took your child, how soon would you stop looking for her? If someone accused your best friend of a terrible crime, when would you stop defending him?

Seven years after Joe Tyler’s daughter Elizabeth was abducted, he hasn’t stopped looking for answers, and he hasn’t forgotten the friend who stood by him as he lost his wife, his home, and his career in his search. Now he’s been brought back to San Diego by the news that this friend has been arrested for beating up a teenage girl—a girl not much older than Elizabeth would be now.
Joe is convinced Chuck Winslow is innocent, but Chuck is in a coma and can’t explain what happened. And the more Joe hears about what Chuck’s been up to in the years he’s been gone, the less Joe recognizes his old friend. To find out the truth, he will have to face his ex-wife, his former bosses, and a hometown full of wealth, lies, and illicit privilege. When Chuck’s accuser goes missing, Joe must decide where his loyalties truly lie.

Jeff Shelby is the best-selling author of The Noah Braddock series (Killer Swell, Wicked Break and Liquid Smoke) and has been compared by reviewers to Harlan Coben and Robert Crais. In Thread of Hope, he delivers a gut-wrenching tale of painful secrets and even more devastating truths as well as an exploration of how a single thread of hope can keep one man going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oustanding lead character and a GREAT read! January 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What a great read this book was, I was able to finish it quickly and is an easy quick read for all. I truly enjoyed the lead character in this, he has a lot of personal demons and issues to be resolved leading the reader to truly enjoy this story.

Jeff Shelby is becoming a master at the mystery novel as I have found all of his books to be very good.

Here's to hoping this new book (which leaves a MAJOR cliff hanger) is not just a one time thing and a potential series will come with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great New Book! January 2, 2012

I've read all the Noah Braddock books and was so excited to see this new offering from Jeff Shelby. In the first book, of what I hope becomes a new series, the author does a great job in describing the culture of the well-to-do's in Coronado. He has a real understanding of high-school kids (and I might add, basketball) and drew me into the lives of the main characters and made me feel their pain. And for those Noah Braddock fans out there, you'll be happy to hear that he makes an appearance in the book--look for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thread of Hope - a Must Read! February 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Thread of hope is one of Shelby's best works to date. The cliff hanger at the end leaves the reader wanting more. I hope this is the first of many. Great characters, fantastic dialogue and a fast moving plot make this one hard to put down.
