"Threads of Love," ("ToL") is the main reason why I bought this CD. This song appears, to the best of my knowledge, only on two other LL CDs, "Favorites" ( a 3 CD collection of many of her songs that appear on other of her CDs) and "Lorie Line Live!" (which includes songs of a style quite different from that of the more subdued "ToL").
Most of the other songs on this CD appear on "Music from the Heart, Greatest Cover Hits," a collection of wonderful mellow songs performed in a manner I like best by Lorie Line - primarily piano solos with relatively minor background instrumentation of strings and other instruments that support the piano which takes the forefront. "Threads of Love," exceeded my expectations. The song "TOL" is, in my opinion, LL's signature song. Many years ago while eating in a restaurant, I heard in the background a beautiful piece of music that grabbed my heart and spirit. I was told that the pianist was Lorie Line, a musician I had never heard of. Since that time, I saw her on PBS in her "Lorie Line Live!" concert which featured her and an orchestra and vocalists performing music in varied styles. My preference is for the more subdued stylings which is why the "MFtH" CD is one of my all time favorite CDs in my collection. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that the songs that also appeared on "MFtH" that were featured on "ToL" were performed in an even more subdued manner, partly due to the fewer musicians involved in the performing of the music, but also to the tasteful sound engineering done which kept sounds such as percussion (such as the cymbals) in the background allowing the piano to always remain in the forefront. When the violin and cello come to the forefront, they do so in a very tasteful and appropriate manner, enhancing their interplay with the piano. In addition to the "cover hits," and "ToL," other songs on this CD I highly recommend getting this CD for include "Scarborough Fair," and ""Hymne" (yes, this appears on "MFtH") which is performed with minimal background instrumentation and is an absolutely gorgeous treatment of the song written by Vangelis. Two songs appear on this CD written by Lorie Line, "From the Heart," a pleasant song and "Rondo," which impressed me as a tribute to the classical work of Handel or Hayden (not sure which exact period of classical music this refers to but it reflects the highly structured and rapid-fire delivery of notes within short melodic phrases). Rondo was interesting as a diversion from the other types of songs, but for me, I wish another "cover song" would have been included. This is now my second most favorite Lorie Line CD. If you do not have her CD "MFtH," or "Favorites," (her 3 CD collection), or want to introduce someone to her music, I highly recommend this CD as an expression of her best art.

Heard one of Lorie's pieces on the "Easy Listening" music station on our cable TV. We promptly searched for more of her work on Amazon and we have rewarded ourselves with this CD and a few more. Highly recommended.

I have seen Lorie perform several times and know that the title song of this album was written by Lorie as a gift from a groom to his bride. Can you imagine receiving such a wonderful gift? Lorie's own music is so beautiful and her arrangements of well-known tunes so fresh. I have many of her albums and love each one. I cannot recommend her enough and only wish she came to Pittsburgh to perform more often. This album is truly a joy to listen to.
