5.0 out of 5 stars A Story that Stayed with Me, April 7, 2011

This review is from: The Three Suns of Amara / Battle on Venus (Ace Double #76380) (Mass Market Paperback)
My copy has THE THREE SUNS OF AMARA on one side and the same author's THE AUTOMATED GOLIATH on the other, so I will speak only of the former. I read this book in Mexico when I was twelve years old and for many years I remembered the story but couldn't remember the author or title. The flyleaf reads, "It's a DIFFERENT science fiction story." Perhaps it is as I remembered it for many years. Finally, I looked at the spine of a book in a used book store in the 80s and there it was -- THE THREE SUNS OF AMARA. The main character makes his way across the wilderness of the planet on foot supplied with among other things a "needle pistol." The story is filled with color and description of a strange land with strange people and a strange woman with whom he hooks up. Well worth reading.
