Precious Pups,
This review is from: Three Angels: For The Love Of Dogs: Tributes To Three Amazing Pups (Paperback)
Three Angels was fantastic. It contained everything that you could want in a book: it was beautifully written, contained gorgeous pictures, and made me laugh and cry. My only problem with the book was when it ended; I wanted to keep reading!
The author, Ben Kerschberg is obviously extremely talented at making the reader feel all of his emotions. You know a book is special when it makes you cry and then laugh out loud. The pictures were gorgeous and each dog was absolutely stunning. This book was not only beautiful for its own tales of the author's relationship with the three dogs but also for the memories that it invoked of my own dogs. Any dog lover can tell you that dogs love unconditionally and Three Angels captures that unconditional love. The story of Phoebe reminded me of how much my own dog loves when I come home from school for break and he can't contain his excitement. The tale of Phoebe also reminded me of my first dog and how devastated I was when she died. The other stories are equally poignant. The connection between man and dog is remarkable and truly a relationship of best friends. I can't wait until the author writes again!

Remember, Dogs Love Hugs Too!,
This review is from: Three Angels: For The Love Of Dogs: Tributes To Three Amazing Pups (Paperback)
If anyone is contemplating adopting a dog, but needs a little more incentive, then this is the book for you. This is about a guy giving a heart warming tribute to three dogs and three friends and they just happen to be the same. Ben does a wonderful job in expressing his emotions as he shares some of the very special moments that he and his dogs have together. They go from cradle to grave, so be prepared to laugh and cry.
The only problem that I have with the book are the beautiful pictures. They seemed to want to disappear. Although I have seen some reemerge, framed and hanging on the refrigerator. Others, I am told went to school assignments. The pictures themselves make this a very good book.

My Best Friends,
This review is from: Three Angels: For The Love Of Dogs: Tributes To Three Amazing Pups (Paperback)
I could feel my heart breaking while I read, and then I cried like a baby. `Three Angels: For the Love of Dogs: Tributes to Three Amazing Pups', by Ben Kerschberg contains three heart warming stories for any dog lover. Phoebe, a German Shepherd, was all paws and smiles from the first day that they brought her home. A lifetime routine of hugs and kisses to a heart breaking ending that every dog owner fears. Promise, a Doberman, who loved to carry around her large Teddy wherever she went to and who loved to play. Always full of energy and life, yet filled with the beautiful grace of an award winning champion. Then we come to Steady, a Red Lab and Golden mix, who has the uncanny ability to understand and distinguished human toys from dog toys. Sweet caring Steady who befriends anyone or anything regardless if human or animal.
As a dog owner and lover, I cried my eyes out. Then I looked at my own Wendy, a mix between Golden Retriever and Cocker Spaniel, and cried some more. This collection of delightful tales is one that stuck home for me personally. I feel that this author spoke to me, for I share many experiences and the same playful memories just as Mr. Kerschberg does. My heart goes out to you, and to any other dog lover who has lost their best friend. Filled with beautiful home pictures of all three amazing pups, and funny little commentaries, makes `Three Angels: For the Love of Dogs: Tributes to Three Amazing Pups' one o my favorite books. But be warned, you will definitely need to snuggle up with your own best friend and a box of tissues!

A Tail Wagging Walk Down Memory Lane,

This review is from: Three Angels: For The Love Of Dogs: Tributes To Three Amazing Pups (Paperback)
I laughed. I cried. I smiled then cried some more. "Three Angels: For the Love of Dogs - Tributes to Three Amazing Pup" is a collection of stories from the heart. Within these pages, author Ben Kerschberg introduces you to three of the loves of his life. Phoebe, the German Shepherd with a heart of gold. All paws and ears until growth spurts manage to match the two; she enjoys nothing better than greeting her owner with a tackle and kisses to show her love. Next we meet Promise, the Doberman with the grace to be a show dog and the spunk to teach a young pup how to enjoy all life has to offer. Finally, there is Steady. He is a warm mix of Lab, Golden Retriever, and Hound all balled up in a beautiful red coat. Quick to make a friend, Steady makes an impact on all he encounters.
"Three Angels" is a truly wonderful book that will touch the hearts of pet owners and pet lovers alike. The warmth and love for each of the puppies shines through in every word put to paper, after all dogs are all puppies, no matter how much they seem to grow. In reading these loving tributes, I couldn't help but get caught up in the common curiosities shared by many dogs and frequently found myself thinking to our own dogs, one of which happens to be a German Shepherd. She loves her stuffed toys, knows which one to get when asked, and also greets you in a manner befitting the "dash-and-change" method applied by the author. For an emotional journey into the lives of these beautiful pups, take a moment to read this "tail". Don't forget the tissues and your own best friend!

The book is very well written and the photographs are priceless. Ben Kerschberg has the amazing ability to draw the readers into the story and keep them there. You feel the emotion of the story as if you were telling the story of your own pet.
I have worked with an animal rescue group for many years and reading this book reminded me of the many adoptions I have been involved in. It is always rewarding to read stories where the bond between owner and pet is so strong. I would definitely recommend this book to any animal lover.

When I received this book, I flipped through and loved all of the emotional photographs of these wonderful dogs.
As I sat down to read, I found Ben Kerschburg to be an amazing storyteller as he described the lives of Phoebe, Promise and Steady. The more I read, the more I felt as if I was a part of these dog's lives - the stories bring you in so much that I just could not put this book down until I read it cover to cover. I'm grateful that Ben decided to share the stories of these Three Angels - pups that will leave you laughing, crying, and all together love dogs even more than ever before!

I've always had a soft spot for dogs, ever since I had my own special relationship with my dog. I've always felt that dogs are God's special companions for us, and my dog Splitter was no exception.
I felt Ben Kerschberg's love for his dogs on every written page. Each story is written with a special joy that can only be expressed genuinely. If Ben hadn't really loved his dogs, then the stories in Three Angels would not have touched my heart as much as they did. Reading about Phoebe brought back all the emotions I felt with my dog. His writing is very person-to-person, and filled with empathy. I enjoyed every word. If you want a real story of the connection between man and dog, Three Angels is a wonderful read.

I cried like a baby!,

This review is from: Three Angels: For The Love Of Dogs: Tributes To Three Amazing Pups (Paperback)
I am a dog lover, and have three angels myself. I cried and cried when reading about Phoebe. If you are a dog lover, you will love this book. The descriptions of the "smiles" on the faces of promise and steady, well, you just know what he's talking about if you love dogs.
I loved the descriptions of promise, and how she finally won steady over and got him to play with her. My heart broke for the both of them, under that tree. My heart was warmed so much when he told of the change that took place in steady after they walked back into the kennel, and then back out to the yard..... rescues truly make wonderful companions. They just love to be loved!

Heartfelt stories for the dog lover in us all,
This review is from: Three Angels: For The Love Of Dogs: Tributes To Three Amazing Pups (Paperback)
My gosh, this book is so well-written! Ben Kerschberg has a way with words, and his stories about his three favorite dogs in the world are at once entertaining and infinitely sweet. I smiled and cried throughout this book, but most of all appreciated the lyricism of this book. If you're looking for a good read, this is it.
