A very clever play on a classic story!,

This book is hilarious and so much fun to read to your children. It is cleverly written and beautifully illustrated. The story starts off with the three bears getting dressed up to go trick or treating. They visit several of their animal friends before stumbling upon a cottage with a door that is left open. They enter the house, eat the snacks, break a chair, and hide in the bed, only to be scared off when the "witch" that is following them is Goldilocks dressed up for Halloween. Absolutely adorable, my boys loved it!

Great for Halloween or a fractured fairy tale unit,

As a favorite in my former school library I just purchased it again for my new one. Opened the box and read it to 2 classes right away. They loved it! It's perfect for this time of year (October) and also as an example as a fractured fairy tale. The reaction when the face of the witch is revealed is priceless :) Recommended for K's and up especially if they are familiar with Goldilocks and the bears.

Kid Tested Mother Disapproved,
This review is from: The Three Bears' Halloween (Library Binding)
My 2-year-old son LOVES this book. He begs me to read it over and over again and I hear him reciting to himself when he is alone in his room. I am thrilled whenever my kids get excited about reading but the content of this book is disappointing to me. While the reverse Goldilocks storyline is clever the beginning of the story seems disjointed from the ending. Also, there are two words that although technically correct still drive me crazy grammatically and don't sound right contextually (dived and leaped). I choose to use dove and leapt when I read it to them.
