4.0 out of 5 stars Always A Classic
This book is now a new favorite on my 2 year old's list. He loves the story and now has it partially memorized, I think. He has learned the concepts of too hot, too cold, and just right; as well as big, medium, and small. Hopefully he is learning from this classic story not to repeat the fresh behavior of Goldilocks. I think the repetition and sequencing of events in...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not at all impressed
I bought this book because I wanted a rendition of The Three Bears to read to my son. I chose a Little Golden Book because of their reputation for great stories and illustrations. I was sorely disappointed in this one. First of all, the illustrations were very rough. They looked like something a child might draw. Not at all what I expected from LGBs. Also, the...

4.0 out of 5 stars Always A Classic, March 8, 2006
This review is from: The Three Bears (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
This book is now a new favorite on my 2 year old's list. He loves the story and now has it partially memorized, I think. He has learned the concepts of too hot, too cold, and just right; as well as big, medium, and small. Hopefully he is learning from this classic story not to repeat the fresh behavior of Goldilocks. I think the repetition and sequencing of events in this story are appealing to little minds. The only reason I gave this book 4 stars is because sometimes the picture on the page preceeds the story and it hinders the flow of ideas.

Also, the quality of the book itself was a disappointment. The edges of the cover were razor sharp and I was concerned about my son getting cut while reading the book. I sent this one back to Amazon, and they refunded my money.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE THREE BEARS ARE "JUST RIGHT!", September 9, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Three Bears (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
This book is a timeless, enduring children's classic. I have been reading this to my two year old granddaughter, Carolina Skye. Everytime I ask her to bring me a story to read to her, this is the one she chooses. She refers to it as "The Just Right Book!" This is because the baby bear's porridge, bed and chair are not too hot or to hard, but JUST RIGHT! She has been able to transfer this expression to many other situations...if I ask her if she likes something, she'll say, "It's Just Right!" She loves Goldilocks and the baby bear, but somehow thinks that her Grandmother & Grandfather are the MaMa & PaPa bear. Wonder where she got that idea? We only TALK for the characters every time we read it to her! This book truly is "JUST RIGHT!" Susan Boston September 9,08

4.0 out of 5 stars A Classic, April 26, 2010
This review is from: The Three Bears (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
This is a great retelling of an old classic, with colorful illustrations. My 4 year old daughter loves it, and can even read some of it herself. I highly recommend this book if you are looking to share the classics with your child.

If by chance you don't know much about this timeless story, it is about a young girl named Goldilocks (named Silver-Hair in the original version) who snooped around in a home when nobody was there. This house belonged to three bears: a father bear, a mother bear and a little bear. The girl ended up eating a bowl of porridge, breaking a chair and sleeping in the little bear's bed. When the bears come home, they quickly realize that somebody had been in their house; when they go into the bedroom, they find the girl. She doesn't get eaten.

The book is cute, and definitely appropriate for its age group. I hope you give it a try.

Once upon a time there was an absolute treasure of a book that was loved by generations -- and it's back today with beautiful watercolor illustrations that help bring the story to life.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Three Bears, February 14, 2011

I purchased this book for my grandchildren. I am not happy with the illustrations, the wee little bear was bigger than mama bear, and they had a blurry look. The story had cuts, not a good book.

It is a nice Golden book and that is why I bought it. Golden books are not known for their sturdy pages so be careful. Very colorful illustrations!

5.0 out of 5 stars My toddler son is fascinated with the toy, February 28, 2009
By
This review is from: The Three Bears (Little Golden Book) (Hardcover)
My son is completly taken by this classic story. He ask for it to be read every day. He can quote the story almost word for word at 26mths. I like that it is published in the USA and take little room in the book case (thus leaving room for more books :0)). Golden books remain a classic true and tried book maker.
