Crunchy, distorted and droning guitars, smoky harmony vocals, and a wide range of homemade sounds combined with an assortment of percussion, acoustic, wind and electronic instruments make this record brilliant. Remnants of the Middle East and the old American west are present in the overall sound--Three Cherries is mesmerizing and slightly scary. The music is atmospheric and dark, lonesome and fierce, beautiful and mysterious, and reminds you of of something wonderful that you had and lost and are reaching out to find it again. Three Cherries is filled with beautiful, whispered secrets...keep listening.

No matter when I play this cd I expect it to be twilight when I walk outside. Did I just sleep all day or wake up the moment the night gives up? Mr. Hurley has managed to use subdued and very well balanced dynamics to create an album that feels like the moment of near comfort between shivers in a fever dream. Here there is comfort in knowing that you can find strength in losing yourself to that empty-stomach, knotted up feeling. Nice silkscreened packaging.
