And so it goes: we indelibly find ourselves in the pursuit of a song to hum and tap our toes to. In come the hand-clapping dance rhythms of Four Square, four nice boys from Toronto. Founded around the aspirations of Simon Head, Four Square formed in late 2000 and have continued to gain momentum ever since. Passing through an array of incarnations and including players from SNFU, The Weakerthans and Treble Charger, Four Square’s sound has been built on the principles of Get Up Kids melody, Green Day intensity and Jimmy Eat World sensitivity. Recent appearances with the likes of Sum 41, Reel Big Fish and Bowling For Soup have helped push the band into the spotlight. Four Square’s new album is stacked with pop numbers sure to capture a wide array of listeners. A collaboration between singer/guitarist Simon Head and guitarist/singer Allan Shaw, Three Chords And A Capo was recorded by the band at Insight Recordings and mixed at the legendary Metal Works Recording Studio.
