Good to see the Boston boys return!,
By DevilsWings (Tampa, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Three Chords & The Truth (Audio CD)
I never thought it would happen. I thought that after Ducky Boys released "Dark Days" and split up that they were through. Dark Days was classic punk/rock n'roll album. Their songs have alot to do with day to day life and the struggles with life. This theme radiates through out their new album. This album falls in line with the same formula another Boston band has used recently by the name of Dropkick Murphys! This album is a bit more commercial/produced as was the last Dropkick Murphys album "Blackout." The singer's voice has matured a bit since their last album, sounding less like Bon Scott of AC/DC fame then "Dark Days" had. This album the will grow on you the more you listen to it. Currently my favorite track is #6 "For the Underdogs" but my favorite song seems to change each time I hear it. They do a punk version of Ben E. King's classic "Stand By Me" which radiates with emotion. All in all I would highly recommend this album if you have any of their other CDs. If you are into bands like: Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphys & Rancid, then I would suggest picking up this CD.

MUST HAVE THIS.,
This review is from: Three Chords & The Truth (Audio CD)
What a great music and lyrics,,,,that's my wrap-up. This CD is still my rotation ever since I bought it a month before the release through Thorp records. When I am energetic I always start listeing from the begining (sound transition from track 1 to 3 is outstanding). When I do not feel good about life, I start listening from the track 7 ("Stand By Me"). Although I love all songs, if I have to pick one favorite, I might select either "Richmond Skyline" or "Crumbling Heart." These songs are incredible, man! I mean, everything good are in here-excellent song structure, sweet vocal, nice guitar works, awesome lyrics-this cd is purely good. I am afraid that next Ducky Boys CD might not surpass the productivity of "Three Chords" but I hope that "The War Back Home" is at least as good as this album (I know they'll live up to my expectation!). I have to reiterate that this album is monster! Also I do not understand why some fans do not like this album as much as "Darky Days" because the band has successfully extended their range of instrumentation to be more heuristic. To conclude, everything that Mark Lind does are phenomenal, since he is a very creative artist.

I can't get enough!,
By K. Lynch "psyche_soma" (South Bend, IN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Three Chords & The Truth (Audio CD)
This is the first album I own by this group, and I can't get enough. This is very good, driving, guitarsy punk rock, along the lines of Social Distortion, Naked Raygun, and Dropkick Murphys. I highly recommend this. My favorite tracks are "Break Me", "One for the Underdogs", and "Crumbling Heart", but there's not a song on this album I don't like. You'll find yourself singing along!
