5.0 out of 5 stars Sandra Brown is a literaray genius
I do not understand where all these bad reviews are coming form, I am a huge Sandra Brown fan, and I think that three stories in one was the perfect idea, by the time I have finished one, I'm ready to go to read all Sandra Browns books, and best kept secrets was one of my favorites, as for some of the other reviews, Sandra Brown writes fiction novels, so they are based...

2.0 out of 5 stars so-so
The book was readable and somewhat entertaining but it completely lacked humor and I found the author's views a teensy bit revoltingly moralistic at times. Double standards at their finest...In one of the novels the heroine's mother is murdered and the wrong man is sent to prison for life, and then the heroine falls in love with one of the guys who knew about the...

No matter what she writes she does it in a way where I can not put the book down!

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 stories dealing with mystery, betrayal and love., April 9, 1999
This review is from: Three Complete Novels: Mirror Image, Best Kept Secrets, Slow Heat in Heaven (Hardcover)
Mirror Image is a rivoting novel of lies and secrets. How one woman is thrown in the middle of a family where decit is the family's pastime. Best Kept Secrets is a unigue tale of a woman who finds out who killed her mother and also finds love along the way. Slow Heat In Heaven is a wiked tale that takes place in Lousianna, I believe. It's a great tale of scorn and love. Sandra Brown is a WONDERFUL author and these are 3 of her best books.

The book was readable and somewhat entertaining but it completely lacked humor and I found the author's views a teensy bit revoltingly moralistic at times. Double standards at their finest...In one of the novels the heroine's mother is murdered and the wrong man is sent to prison for life, and then the heroine falls in love with one of the guys who knew about the frame-up. The hero's a sheriff but overlooks his friends using drugs. And MEN can jump from bed to bed without regrets but when the murdered woman does so ONCE they're very bitter. The heroine goes so far as to say that her mother was responsible for her own murder because she seems to have a dubious morality. GIVE ME A BREAK! What about the morality of the men doing the framing? It seems that an abortion is a greater sin to Ms. Brown than framing an innocent half-wit for a life sentence. Also, the believability of the plot in Mirror Image was zero. Do you really think one can survive a plane crash, be given a new, more beautiful face (someone else's) and manage to fool everybody? Of SB's books, I've liked better the ones in which the plot does not involve any crime or past secret, because she can't develop those plots very well and I'm feminist enough to take offence to her or her characters double standardistic views about rape, premarital affairs in men versus women, abortion etc. I started with Send no flowers and Breakfast in Bed and Fanta-C and liked them but later I've been disappointed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not up to par.., August 16, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Three Complete Novels: Mirror Image, Best Kept Secrets, Slow Heat in Heaven (Hardcover)
I am an avid reader of Sandra Brown's line of books. I prefer her writings of a strictly romantic nature. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 books encased in this series were more mystery (and lengthy ones at that) than romance. For this, I was greatly disappointed once I started reading my latest purchase. I would not highly recommend this volume of work unless you are into Ms. Brown's murder/mysteries.

I bought this book on a lark. I had never read anything by her before. I was so surprised! Her characters just jumped off the page! Anyone who wants variety and romance and has a rainy day to spare, should read this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get it..it's great!!, January 20, 2005
This review is from: Three Complete Novels: Mirror Image, Best Kept Secrets, Slow Heat in Heaven (Hardcover)
I happened across this book in a used book store. I'm a fan of Sandra Brown, although I don't cut her any slack when I read one that isn't what I expected. Let's face it, we have to tell it like it really is. But all three of the stories in this one book happen to be some of Sandra's very best writing. Do yourself a favor and get it. I thought it was greeeaaatttttttt!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not her greatest work., January 29, 2009
I am the biggest Sandra Brown fan, but I could barely make it through the first story "Heaven's Price." Based in the 1980's the story was just too unbelieveable. I know it's romance, but letting a stranger caress your naked body without checking their masseuse's license first was a bit much. Still working on "Bed in Breakfast" and it has a better storyline. All in all, don't expect too much!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected from Sandra Brown, September 6, 2008
These three novels read like Harlequin romances. I've read MUCH better from Sandra Brown. Perhaps these were written in her earlier days?

3.0 out of 5 stars Stories written early 80's, January 11, 2008

I enjoyed reading these three short stories; however, they were somewhat dated. The stories were written in the early 80's and revolve around items no longer used - typewriter, landline phones, etc. I kept wanting the characters to pick up a cell phone or laptop and get along with the business at hand.
