5.0 out of 5 stars What reading this book has done for me
This book has changed me. I am still trying to come to grips with what that means. I feel different and better. It has touched my soul in a way that no other book has done for many a decade. It is almost an unbelieveable story. The fact that Dr. Greg is still alive is a miracle in itself. Here it is almost 2am PST and I could not get to sleep so I thought I would donate...

1.0 out of 5 stars Just one 'cute' song ; disappointing
Whereas the book is absolutely amazing, the CD is not. (The book is on par with Mountains Beyond Mountains -- also must-read -- by Tracy Kidder, about Dr Paul Farmer.) This CD, however, was disappointingly short. There's just one song on it. I was hoping for a bit of music from the region featured in the book, but what you get is one song of kids music. This CD, however, was disappointingly short. There's just one song on it. I was hoping for a bit of music from the region featured in the book, but what you get is one song of kids music. Great for kids, but the price tag is disproportionate to the content. I'm glad the proceeds are going to a good cause, but I find the marketing misleading as the actual content of the CD is insufficiently explained.

This book has changed me. I am still trying to come to grips with what that means. I feel different and better. It has touched my soul in a way that no other book has done for many a decade. It is almost an unbelieveable story. The fact that Dr. Greg is still alive is a miracle in itself. Here it is almost 2am PST and I could not get to sleep so I thought I would donate to the CAI, buy another book, and write this review.

I am a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. I choose to watch FOX News for some reason. I watch the other stations as well and I dislike FOX the least. I voted Republican in the last two elections only because I thought the other options would be worse. This book has taught me how wrong I was. It has layed out facts that no one would ever hear on any news station. The information provided by Greg and David was startling and it has caused me to rethink a lot of my views.

My recommendation is that if you do not read this book, you will be missing out on a life experience (thats right, this book was an experience, almost as if one was there themselves) and you will be missing out on enhancing your life in a way I find hard to express. You must read this book. You owe it to yourself, your family, your community, and the world you live in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Worldwide, January 12, 2008
This review is from: Three Cups of Tea (Audio CD)
Amira, daughter of Greg Mortenson, adds a beautiful musical component to accompany his best-selling book "Three Cups of Tea".

Her sweet voice encourages the world to join in peace and share with children from around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids are important, February 16, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Three Cups of Tea (Audio CD)
I am very proud of you, Amira, because your song is a big hit!
The song makes me feel I am sharing with the children of the world.
Now I know what Three Cups of Tea means. We should all share love with each other. I think each kid is connected. Us kids can make a new start and make the world a better place through peace.
Your cousin,
Sydney Star, age 7

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 cups of tea cd, April 7, 2008
This review is from: Three Cups of Tea (Audio CD)
This is a lovely companion song to the book Three Cups of Tea. I adored the book and it is nice to hear gently sounds that remind me of the power of women's voices and the serenity of eastern sounds.

This is a charming little piece of music to listen to while contemplating the
far regions of the Himalayas. To make it doubly nice, some of the cost goes
to a non-profit agency working to education children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soaring with Hope, December 8, 2007
This review is from: Three Cups of Tea (Audio CD)
I have listened to this song repeatedly, and each time, my spirit soars with hope for peace and friendship in a world torn apart by hatred. What a beautiful song. Thank you Jeni and Amira.

I bought this cd along with the book by the same name for both myself and my husband. I found it beautifully executed and find myself humming it throughout the day. I will purchase more of Jeni Flemming's music.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy it to support the cause, but not to listen to., August 27, 2007

I bought this CD because I support Greg Mortensen's cause, after reading Three Cups of Tea. This CD is nowhere near as compelling as the book. It's amateurish at best.

I have no regrets over buying it, but one listen is enough.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a book on tape!, January 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Three Cups of Tea (Audio CD)
This was not what we expected! It consists of rather amateurish music and a large disappointment since it was the only thing we brought to listen to on an extended road trip. Next time we are looking for something in a 'books on tape' format, we will be sure to read the fine print!
