If you love Eve,
By Mary Michele "book lover" (Greenwood, IN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Three in Death (Mass Market Paperback)
I love the "In Death" series and was not disappointed by this collection of short stories.
Each story described a case Eve handled. The major characters were all there --Eve, Roake, Delia. If you have read all the books be aware that these stories predate the newer books. If you are like me you start a JD Robb book and don't stop until you are done. These stories give you an Eve "fix" in a shorter formate for the times you just can't sit and read the afternoon away.

A bit of a surprise,
By
This review is from: Three in Death (Mass Market Paperback)
This book isn't listed in the list of books included in the front of each book in the "In Death" series so when I discovered it I was thrilled to order it. I was surprised to find that it was really 3 novelettes which were complete in themselves. "Midnight" was quite good and actually was an extension of Roarke and Dallas's first Christmas together. The mystery is good and it's worth the read. The second and third are not as tightly written as her novels and so were a bit disappointing. This is still a fun read as the ideas and mysteries are very novel (as always).

Each of these three novellas was previously included in anthologies, but if you have limited shelf space, and don't care for the other authors, it's worth your while to pick up this collection of "...in Death" stories.
I would have liked it even better if all the novellas of the series were included, not just three, but these are quite enjoyable and show Robb at her best. Whether Eve is off-planet and dodging the need to make a speech, or counting down to New Year's Eve with a serial killer, you know that she and Roarke - and the usual team of players - will fight for justice in the not-so-distant future.

How can you go wrong?,

This review is from: Three in Death (Mass Market Paperback)
How can you go wrong buying a book that is three in one? It saved me from having to buy the lame books with the other authors that the stories were in. I really liked all three of these stories, though the abreviated version of any good author is lacking the panache of a full length story.

Random Selection, Great Book,

While at the airport I picked this book up, never read any of Roberts, or Robb, and it looked interesting. It was the best decision when coming to books, I love the short stories and will be buying the full length soon.

These are not new stories,

I give it one star simply because these are not new stories. To be more specific, Interlude In Death was included in an anthology titled Out Of This World and Midnight In Death was included in one titled Silent Night. Haunted I must have missed. Perhaps someone else knows. Just be careful, if you are a J. D. Robb fan you may already have read these.

Strangers In Death,
By B Goodall "B Goodall" (Memphis, Tn) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Three in Death (Mass Market Paperback)
I am addicted to the "In Death" series. I have read them all over and over again and each time I read them, it's like I'm reading them for the first time. Roarke and Eve are such a sexy, dynamic pair and to read about the murder's Eve is primary on and how Roarke's help is enlisted is the best of all. The books lets you indulge yourself in excellent deductive skills Eve uses to solve the murder cases and the brilliance of her department including Peabody, Baxter and Truehart as well as the EDD team headed by Feeney and Peabody's love, McNab. These books are great reads and sexy as HELL! Hurry up with Salvation in Death, I cannot wait.

More good reading x 3 from one of my favorite authors. She never lets me down. I can go for a while without reading her books, then I check on Amazon to see if there are any new ones out and I have to make the order! Thanks Amazon.

I am an adamant admirer of all J.D. Robb mysteries but I think I will review all books before purchasing any in the future so that I no longer pay for the same story twice. Since Midnight In Death is one of the stories in Three in Death I didn't need to read it in two different books. Please don't sell the story independently with this book to others.
