I will change my review if this gets fixed. For right now, I rate it a 3. The crate itself seems fine, though some of the finish is worn off (this is supposed to be new?) But I was shipped a crate with a PLASTIC pan and NO divider. And the plastic pan has a broken corner, most likely from shipping. I am waiting to see if the seller will remedy this by sending me the correct METAL pan and the divider that were supposed to come with this crate. I should not have to pay return shipping for the seller sending me the wrong item, which is their mistake, not mine. The seller for my order shows as Great Buy Wholesale, though the product page shows Cavalier Wholesale as seller. For now, buyer beware.
UPDATE 1/23/11:
The seller is going to send me the metal pan when they come in. Apparently, the factory was out of metal pans so they (the factory) just substituted the plastic one without even bothering to mention it. I think that's ridiculous and will definitely make me reconsider any future BestPet purchases. A customer pays for a specific product... they don't want a cheap substitute, especially without any notice. The seller is going to make sure that the factory sends me a metal pan when they are available. There was no mention from the seller yet regarding the missing divider panel. They are quick to reply, though.
UPDATE 1/31/11:
I see that the product description for this has changed. When I ordered it, it said:
* Durable pet crate designed with convenient three doors
* Satin black Electro-Coat finish with easy-to-clean and tough metal pan
* Ideal for pets 71 to 90 pounds
* Easy setup with no tools required
* Divider panel included
I still have yet to receive the metal pan and the divider panel.
UPDATE 9/16/11:
I did eventually receive the divider panel and the metal pan. It took awhile to get the divider so I never got to use it with my puppies since they'd grown into the kennel by then. Then it was another couple months before I got the metal pan, which is absolutely ridiculous! The box the pan was shipped in was ripped on the corners, had a tear in the side, and the pan was bent and pretty cheap looking with sharp corners. I would not use it for my puppies for fear they would cut themselves on it. I was fed up with having to contact the seller about it repeatedly so now the cheap metal pan is sitting in my closet.
The kennel itself and the plastic pan that it was shipped with have held up to the abuse from my Border Collies puppies. They will be a year old on Thanksgiving and both fit comfortably together in the kennel when snuggled up, sitting, and standing. I may have to get another, smaller kennel for my female, though, since her brother and her do fight a bit sometimes and he ends up trying to be a kennel hog. I can guarantee it will be from a different company! For the kennel itself: 4/5; plastic pan: 4/5; metal pan: -/5 (Absolutely absurd how cheap and crappy it is, with sharp corners!!)
