Three mysteries. My favorite, the walk. A story about a network executive, who finds himself caught in L.A. during a massive earthquake. His quest to get home to his wife, by traveling danger embedded path changes him profoundly.

I did not anticipate three great stories from this choice, and will happily read any of these authors again. A must for readers of this genre.

I'm a long-time fan of Levine's legal thrillers, but I'm new to the other two authors. Joel Goldman knows the criminal justice system and it shows in "Motion to Kill." His writing reminds me of Michael Connelly. Lee Goldberg plays a lot of Inside Hollywood in "The Walk," the most original of the three novels here. The earthquake scenes are realistic and chilling, and there are ample doses of humor as a Hollywood executive tries to walk home through the chaos and destruction. Back to Levine: "To Speak for the Dead" is probably more of a mystery than a thriller, but it remains one of my favorite courtroom novels and reminds me of "Anatomy of a Murder," which is high praise.

Three to Get Deadly is a very enjoyable read.
I had read a Jake Lassiter book previously and wasn't terribly impressed, but I liked 'To Speak For The Dead'. I'd rate this story with 4.5 stars

'Motion to Kill' was also an interesting tale with great twists and turns. My only problem with this one was my perception that the author doesn't seem to care for women who are not young or are over 5% body fat...it was off-putting. As far as legal thrillers go though, it was enjoyable. I would rate this with 4 stars.

My favorite story was the last one, 'The Walk'. I started reading and couldn't put it down until I'd finished. The author, Lee Goldberg, skillfully crafted a wonderful story that had the power to make me laugh out loud one minute and yet tear up the next. The juxtaposition of humor, horror, and humanity was melded into an amazing work. I will definitely be searching out more books by this author. This story is definitely a sold five stars.

This novel is fine. It doesn't flow as smoothly as I would like. I think the writing is good but it just isn't flowing for me

This trio introduced me to these three authors, all of whom I would read again. I enjoyed both To Speak for the Dead and Motion to Kill. I quit reading The Walk after just a few pages, however, as I read in bed each night and the story was so disturbingly realistic that I knew I'd have earthquake nightmares.

Had a fun time reading all three novels. Paul Levine started off slowly but soon caught on. The other two worked for me from the start as fun, light reading.
