5.0 out of 5 stars Solid whiskey soaked rock & roll, May 18, 2008

Wow! How refreshing was it to hear this album on my way to work the other day? So refreshing that I scheduled a happy hour with some friends, threw on some denim, ordered a few Wild Turkeys and had a blast. This album takes me back to the good ol' days but with a modern kick that cannot be denied.

I don't know what these guys are like live but this has to be one of the best solid rock albums of 2008. Every song is a keeper and I don't say that lightly. It's awesome at the first listen but ages well too. I saw this album mentioned on Talking Metal on FUSE and that's why I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did.

Way better than Airbourne and with a real American feel. This reminds me of classic old Aerosmith (when they were still on drugs). I don't know what guitars they use but I hear a lot of the Les Paul sound. I may be mistaken but I've always preferred the Les Paul sound (Thin Lizzy).

Anyway you can't go wrong with this one. Pour yourself a bourbon and turn it up. Great album.

I stumbled across Stone Rider and found a great, fun rock band. These guys are like a party rock band with energy that never wants to slow down. If you like real rock bands similar to AC/DC you will love these guys too!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Music Scene, February 18, 2008
This review is from: Three Legs of Trouble (Audio CD)
All I can say is, "I like where music is headed!" I was so sick of the depressing music that was out. (grunge) Yes, I grew up in the 80's hair metal but like everyone else jumped on the alternative bandwagon. Well now, stone riders is a breath of fresh air!

5.0 out of 5 stars they went from metalcore to hard rock, February 18, 2011
This review is from: Three Legs of Trouble (Audio CD)
Stone Rider used to be Fight Paris, which was a metalcore band trying to be glam. the only thing missing on the album "Three Legs Of Trouble" is the song "100% Woman". Stone Rider reminds me of the 1990's band McQueen Street, which was a southern rock band trying to be like AC/DC. where are these guys and what incarnation are they going to come up with. if you have the Fight Paris album "Paradise Found", then this album will be at home in your collection. I sampled their cover of "Hair of the Dog" and decided to buy this album, picture in your mind a melding of Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Nazareth, Molly Hatchet, and 38 Special, and you have Stone Rider. now that Trustkill became Bullet Tooth Records, I wonder if there will be any Southern Hard Rock bands signing to it. these guys should come back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Rock n Roll, September 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Three Legs of Trouble (Audio CD)
Good to finally hear some dirty rock n roll with some balls. These guys are to the max rock n roll with rippin guitar solos and heavy ball crunching riffs. There's no shortage from beginning to end and the kids need to hear this really really badly. These guys step out of mediocre alternative drop D tuning and stick it to you straight. They've learned how to play there guitars and the tones are warm and threatening.....SOLID PURCHASE.....STEP UP AND BE A MAN.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bringing back real rock & roll, June 5, 2008
This review is from: Three Legs of Trouble (Audio CD)
It's always great to discover bands that play real rock & roll music, especially when they're right in my own back yard. I caught Atlanta's own Stone Rider opening up for Endeverafter and Airbourne a while back, and was immediately impressed with their hard rockin' sound.

Stone Rider, which formed from the ashes of Fight Paris, plays a Southern-tinged brand of groove-laden hard rock. Imagine Axl Rose fronting Led Zeppelin and you'll get a rough idea of the band's style. I also hear elements of Black Sabbath, early Aerosmith, and Nazareth (check out the band's cover of Hair of the Dog) on the band's debut album Three Legs of Trouble. It's a throwback album to a time when rock & roll was a lot less complicated and a lot more fun. This is just an all-around enjoyable "turn it on, turn it up, grab another beer, dance if you feel like it" rock album.

Believe it or not, 2008 is a great time to be an old school rock fan, thanks to bands like Stone Rider that aren't afraid to buck trends and bring back the ROCK!

4.0 out of 5 stars Once again -- Old School Rock is BACK!, April 9, 2008
This review is from: Three Legs of Trouble (Audio CD)
I just wrote a review off the Airborne CD and loved them. These guys are just as good, if not better! Old-school, straight-ahead rock is making a comeback -- rock and roll that just stimulates the senses. A lot of new rock is a bunch of copy-cat crap that requires the listener to think too much -- too many time changes and too many chord progressions. This rock requires no thinking - just listening!
