5.0 out of 5 stars What a wonderfully funny and creative story!
This book was hilarious and my First grade students absolutely loved it! We used the book to compare and contrast the original fairy tale to this unique Hawaiin re-telling. I can't describe to you the fun we had reading this story together. It's a great addition to a teacher's collection of books dealing with Hawaii.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good variation on a traditional theme
Not as good as "the three little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig" but still, an interesting twist. The story is the usual, and the beachy scenes are pretty nice. It's a good way to introduce children to Hawaii, even though it doesn't accurately portray the devastation of the islands by the introduced pigs. :-) Can't have everything in a kids book, can we...

I liked the story because I once lived in Hawaii. I also like to go fishing. I went to the beach once. I like to eat shaved ice. So does my dad. I would tell a friend to read this book because it is in a fun place - Hawaii!

What I liked about it is that it has a shark in it. Another thing I like about it is that the shark could walk on land. Well, I almost loved everything in the story! Everyone should read this book because the shark coudn't fool the pigs and at the end of the story they had a little party at the beach. This is a cool story!

Maybe I'll like it more after I go to Hawaii.

I liked the book because the magic shark was tricky. Also, because the Magic Shark was smart. Also, because the pigs were smart. I would recommend this book to a friend because it is funny.

I liked it when the pigs threw a party after the shark gave up. I also liked it when the shark blew down the houses because it made the shark look funny. Also, I really liked it when they rolled the shark up and tied with string. I thought everything was very good in the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Three Hawaiin Pigs and the Magic Shark, January 14, 2003
A Kid's Review
I like it when the pigs figured out not to take any ice cream from the shark iceman. I liked it when the third pig took his time on his house. I liked the part when the shark could not blow the house down. I don't like the part when the shark tried to trick the pigs. I don't like the part when the shark blew down the first two pig's houses. I don't like the part when the shark was staring at the pigs when they were surfing. I would want a friend to read this book because the book is really interesting. At the end there was a big party!

I recieved this book when I was a child and when I moved out of my parents home I lost it packing. Now I have a child of my own and want to get it for her. This book is creative and funny. It also teaches some Hawiian words. The pictures are done in beautiful watercolors that just feel right for a Hawiian story. Any child will love this story and parents will love it too.
