I Loved this book!!!!!!!!!!!!,
By
This review is from: Three Nights... (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked this book up this morning.... and I couldn't put it down ALL day. This is my first book by this author, and it wont be my last. Its a keeper for sure. It is so romantic, with a very good plot to keep you glued to the book, and with enough sex to warm you up in between, and it is just what you ordered if you love romance like I do. It is 5 star romantic, all the way. Debra Mullins I salute you....good job!!! Great writing!!!!

Excellent, sometimes riveting,
By
This review is from: Three Nights... (Mass Market Paperback)
Three Nights is a lush, sensual, romantic, and exciting tale. Lucien, who seems less than honorable at first, turns into a wonderful romantic lead: sexy, dangerous, and utterly dependable. Aveline is strong and brave, if rather blind to her father's faults. Naturally, it all works out in the end.Betrayal is a featured theme and is supremely executed. Secondary characters add to the intrigue and flesh out the subplots that put obstacles in the lovers' paths. The chemistry between the romantic leads and the love scenes nearly set the pages afire. Yet, it is never clinical or over the top, nor does it slide into purple prose. Instead, even considering the title's three nights, those scenes are ultimately based on romance--its discovery, its loss, its resurrection, and its growth. Well done!

Really good book.,

This book was wonderful. I have never read this author before, but was not disapointed at all. The love story was magical and the who-done-it had me going. Having read mysteries for years before romance books, well, thats a job well done. I kept thinking, "I know who did it now" then something else would happen. I would then find myself thinking "Well, then it was this one...."
From the begining to end, you are drawn into the story. The whole story line is this.... Aveline is living in the country with her gambling father. Needless to say, her father has a problem and is always pushing them close to poverty. Well, in one card game one night, he dishonors Lucien, who is a crackshot and has not lost one of his many duels. So, Aveline figures she will pay the notorius rake a visit and see if she cant bargin for her fathers life. Her mother died several years ago, so her father is the only thing that keeps her off the streets. (She takes care of getting food and stuff.)But what she bargins with is not money, besides, she does not have enough money to cover then debt. Hence, the three nights. Now, fast foreward to five years from now. Here goes the story of deception and betrayal and how these two fall in love all over again while overcoming all these problems. People trying to keep them apart and they are fighting all these outside sources and their own doubts and fears. The only thing is how they go over and over again their thoughts and feelings. The problem, was they were the same. Over and over again. Its not bad when the thoughts change, but 3 out of 5 intorspective parts, sounded like the one before. Then it changes, then the same, same, same. That grated my nerves, but I just skipped over those parts. Otherwise, this book was great. It was a great tale and I enjoyed the ride.

Hot, Passionate, Thrilling right from the start. It has been a very long time since I read a book where I cared about the characters or has a story got me caught up in my emotions. True Passion, I loved it! The names were sexy, the chemistry. Very well done!~

A devil's bargain,
By
This review is from: Three Nights... (Mass Market Paperback)
It all begins with a debt of honor. When Lord Chestwick loses everything while gambling, he rashly accuses Lucien DuFeron of cheating at cards and ends up getting called out. Knowing her father has no hope of survival in a duel against the infamous rakehell, Aveline approaches DuFeron in the dead of night and strikes a devil's bargain -- three nights with Lucien in exchange for her father's gambling vouchers. What should have been a simple matter of sex instead becomes soul-shattering encounters that haunt the pair even after their bargain ends.
Aveline soon finds herself pregnant and writes the father-to-be. However, Lucien's jealous friend Dante steals the letter and, pretending to be Lucien, savagely rebuffs Aveline. Not long after, Lucien is attacked and impressed into service at sea. To Aveline and the rest of the world, Lucien DuFeron is dead. Five years pass before a much-changed Lucien returns to England. Convinced Lord Chestwick ordered his kidnapping, Lucien goes to deliver his revenge, but finds his old enemy is now a man trapped in his own body and the family is on the verge of poverty. Most surprising of all, Lucien discovers that his long-ago dalliance with Aveline produced four-year-old Chloe. Determined to claim them, Lucien demands marriage, and having no other choice, Aveline agrees but refuses to give him conjugal rights. Now these wary lovers must learn to find a way back to each other even as they seek the truth behind Lucien's ordeal. THREE NIGHTS... is a passionate, engrossing tale with intriguing twists and turns at every corner. Lucien is an interesting hero, one toughened but not broken by his life experiences, while Aveline defies the "maiden in distress" stereotype by daring to barter herself sexually and growing stronger by dealing with the aftermath. While the hero and heroine each have flaws, they come together to create a dynamic unit. With its teeming sensuality and fast paced plot, THREE NIGHTS... shows that author Debra Mullins is hotter than ever. TheSchemer

Three Nights,

I cut my teeth on Sidney Sheldon books in a college class on Best Selling novels. Mullins' stuff is better. More intelligent, like Mists of Avalon in a Romance book jacket. Can't wait for the movie!

entertaining Regency romance,
This review is from: Three Nights... (Mass Market Paperback)
In 1810 Cornwall, Aveline Stoddard begs Lucien DuFeron not kill her father. Lord Chestwick lost a lot of money gambling to Lucien and then accused him of cheating. Lucien asks remittance on her father's gambling bill and will throw in the loser's life in exchange for three nights of sex with Aveline. Both are stunned by how much they enjoy the tryst, but on the final morning they depart with nasty words. A few months later she sends him a note informing him she is pregnant, but his best friend responds telling her to have a nice life. Not long afterward, Lucien is assaulted and impressed leading to five years at sea. When he returns home he goes after Chestwick blaming him for the abduction, but the man is a shell having suffered a stroke. He meets five-year old Chloe, recognizes her as his daughter, and marries Aveline. He refuses to take her father with them to his estates so she refuses to have sex with him. When her father's gambling debts threaten Chloe, Lucien cleans up the mess. Aveline realizes her husband is honorable and they make love though she feels he is wrong about her father, but someone did betray him. If not her dad, who? This entertaining Regency romance stars a delightful lead couple that seems perfect together especially during the three delectable nights. They later provide a Lyistrada-like morality battle when they reunite. Still both protagonists wear blindfolds when it comes to not seeing mountainous flaws of loved ones; this appears out of character for either of the strong duo. Award winning Debra Mullins furbishes a wonderful historical that the audience will relish. Harriet Klausner
