With the new year upon us, why don't you give yourself a real break after the hectic Christmas season. Turn the lights down low; pull the drapes; light some candles or sit by the fireplace; drink a favorite beverage; cuddle up with someone special and put this CD on.

Bert Kaempfert is unparalleled for good listening and dance music; his undeniable style and sound is at its peak on this collection. Who cares if the mood stays the same? The songs definitely DO NOT sound alike, nor are they BLAND. What more could a listener want from a superb artist like Mr. Kaempfert.

"Three O'Clock in the Morning," "Rose of Washington Square," all the songs are classics that have never sounded better!

So, stretch that holiday glow into the new year and have a wonderful evening with truly exceptional company!!

this man creates the best band music i have ever heard, the first album i heard of his was christmas wonderland on 33 record. when i switched to cd's i couldn't find it for 15 years till i logged on to amazon dot .com i will be purchasing mre of his albums in the near future.

Bert Kaempfert was such a versatile orchestra leader that he covered several markets with his 'sound' and I think this makes it difficult to choose one CD from another. I prefer his soft, easy listening, wordless chorus tracks (like 'Love comes but once') to his upbeat MOR tracks (like 'A swingin' safari') but record companies take the view that their customers like variety and so mix both tracks together on Bert's re-issues. Amazon's listen to the tracks feature is a great help here to select which CD to buy.

This CD fortunately has my kind of tracks, so if you want some excellent European Sixties easy listening tracks you'll enjoy this disc. Eleven of these were issued by Decca in 1965 on the LP 'Three O'clock in the Morning'. Of the other four tracks 'Three O'clock in the Morning' was taken from the LP 'Blue Midnight' issued in 1964, the other four tracks (listed as Bonus on the CD back) are from 1964. Incidentally the last one 'Dancing in a dream' sounds like it might have been copied from an LP rather than the master tapes.

I think it is worth mentioning that Bert's long time arranger Herbert Rehbein used the Kaempfert orchestra on a super two CD set of really lush easy tracks taken from the three LPs that Rehbein issued. This is probably the German equivalent of Mantovani in England or Percy Faith in America, so look out for 'The complete LP collection of Herbert Rehbein' (ASIN B00004TTJP)
