Book Description

December 17, 1980

Alfred Kazin has spoken of Joyce Carol Oates' "sweetly brutal sense of what American experience I like," and each of these original and disturbing plays explores a facet of that experience.

When Ontological Proof of My Existence was presented in New York City, Newsweek critic Jack Kroll spoke of its "flaring life" and its power in reminding us that we are all characters in the melodrama of contemporary crisis.
