I was positively surprised when I listened to the songs on this album. I used to like Leif Garrett when I was 15, by the time I was 17 I thought I knew that he didn't have any talent but just the looks.

Wrong.

He has a very good voice. He is talented. I love his interpretation of "Lola", and "Are you satisfied" is one of my favorites.

But: Why does Leif Garrett (again, like in his earlier years) publish mostly cover versions? He is said to be a very talented song wrtier, so where's the problem? He could be extremely successful if he just started to do his own thing.

So if you consider this album to be the start of his new carreer - the third side of Leif Garrett - it's a fabulous album.

i.ve always been a fan of his music and have always felt his voice has always been very under rated sadly he'll never get the props he deserves but take a listen to the samples here and you'll see what i mean. he remakes his biggest hit i was made for dancing along with the kinks lola cheap tricks i want you to want me roxy musics love is the drug and a bunch of self written new rockers his voice is still great espically in this rocker style give it a try i think you'll be surprised and pleased i know i was. there are no pictures of him at all in the booklet (more like a phamplet) so i don't know what he's looking like these days but that's not important anyway like george michael said LISTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE!!!

Oxymoronic? Not quite. Cut Leif some slack, he couldn't stay on a skateboard, lion-maned the rest of his life.
If you saw the VH-1 Behind the Music on Leif ten years or so ago, then you'll know he's had it rough...and somehow the show turned me -one who absolutely despised Leif back in his late 1970's heyday- around too. Three Sides of Leif is the aftermath of that showing. He redoes "I Was Made For Dancin'"; cuts a handful of cover versions of what he felt he could render appreciably; and "With Are You Satisfied", onwards lays the case that Leif Garrett is ACTUALLY ALTERNATIVE ROCK. Yes, yes, yes, as angst ridden as Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, you name it. But the beauty here (There's 'beauty' in Alt?)is that it's like being visited by an old frind that you've always, somehow, liked, but that friend never could get on their feet. You empathize.
It's an enjoyable reunion.
