What a great series. The artist decided to sketch a picture every day for a year, and this series of books is the result. As an artist, I can sympathize with the frustration that he often drops hints to as far as creative blocks go. I could not imagine even attempting to take on a project like this, but I found every page interesting and well done. This is not a book on how to draw, or methods, it is a window into one artists project that turned out pretty damn good.
As far as tattooing goes, this series has a great deal of sketches inside for tattoo ideas and directions you can take your art. Very short on words, but overflowing with amazing sketches. I wouldnt think that he would consider doing another 365 book of sketches, but if he did, I would be first in line to pick up the next set!

Another great investment,

For a lousy 60 bucks you get a beautiful set of 4 books with tons of loose drawings ( but rock solid design) that cover all the traditional tattoo subjects--- big cats, pin up girls, dragons, sharks, religious, snakes, skulls, hanya masks, and much more! I can't remember them all... and they come in a really fine slipcase as well--- great printing quality and another real money maker! I doubled my money the first time I showed them to customers and it continues to pay off. The looseness of the drawings is an ADVANTAGE--- plenty of room to customize the designs, which pleases the client who adamantly does NOT want flash designs that "everybody has"--- even though what they REALLY want is something that's SAFE (not TOO custom or weird that their friends will make fun of, HA!) Case in point-- a client will rather have me copy an image off their cell phone than pick out a finished design ( either my original or the huge amount I bought) because they think " ahh, you did that on a lot of people". A must have for any tattooer!

Good line, shading references and tattoo ideas to work from. Has piles of art, but if you're looking for artwork to frame and put on the wall I would not suggest this, for a lot of the sketches are not completed. But if you are a tattoo artist, or any kind of artist for that matter, there are plenty of great ideas to work off of in this set of books.
