I had the fan for almost a month. When I turn the power switch you can hear the motor make a strange sound and the best way I can describe it is this way; if you ever heard the sound a electric hair clipper makes when first turned on only 3 times louder.
I hope this ain't a sign that it's about to break.

this fan has three speeds and on an 85-90 degree temperature outside all you need it the low speed thats how powerful it is. i'm happy with it. the only problem is the motor is alittle loud but you get used to it. its not that bad.

I already have one of these Patton fans and am ordering a second to complete my air cooling and circulation needs-I have no AC-just Patton fans I have been using for many, many years! They pay for themselves with their cooling and long lasting durability and the Patton guarantees! My first 20" Patton fan lasted 27 years before I had to replace it with the new 20"...now I am getting the second one! Thank You Patton Fans!!
