Book Description

In a thirty year study of what was, what is and what shall be, Gary Rutz discovered the secrets to the universe, enlightenment and everlasting happiness. It is not so amazing really, because Rutz discovered what we all have within us. He listened to his own inner voice and trusted that the answers and were within him. After reading thousands of pages of history, philosophy, and critical thought, Rutz used a reductionist method to remove unnecessary complexity. Through accessible language and style, Rutz presents his discoveries in an easy to understand way.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than worth the price October 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This little book surprised me. I don't believe the author said anything which hasn't been said before. However, it is the way he said it which made the difference. I wish I could find a better way to convey this. The book just hit me in the right way. What the author has to say and the way he says it just makes sense to me.

The author talks about acceptance, forgiveness, and peace as the three steps to enlightenment. Most of us have heard and read about this before. But the freshness he brought to the subject resonated with me in a way that writing on these subjects often does not. I got a lot more out of it than I expected, and I am grateful for that.

For the price, you really can't go wrong on this little book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bad formatting and grammar, good message and intentions September 17, 2012
By Randy
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I know a lot of readers on Kindle have huge issues with grammar and formatting, so I will give this warning: I had to read in landscape mode on my Motorola Droid X, otherwise I would have missed a few words on each page. Also, grammar and editing were borderline terrible. This is called the "Revised Edition", so I can't imagine the original. There were typos and such all over the place.

That being said, the message was great. If you could look past the bad grammar and formatting issues, you might take something good away from this book. You certainly couldn't forget anything the way the author continuously repeats himself over and over...and over. I know this doesn't sound like a good review but seriously, the message was good and the author means well. Give it a try, it's free and short. Try not to let the grammar annoy you. Let that be your first lesson on your journey to enlightenment (which you will need to further study up on, but this is a good, free tool to begin with).

Good wishes to all. Enjoy the read.

The bubbly expression might initially grate, until you realise the author genuinely cares, and labours freely to ultimately invaluable effect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great summary of the way it is February 25, 2014
By Danny
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Everything he says seems right on target. The only thing I would add is that most of humanity is not at the place where they just accept everything as it is, forgive, and then just choose peace, and then just "proof" they find enlightenment. True, we are already free, but we are like a bird in a cage with the door wide open refusing to fly free. If we will just let loose of the negative energy bottled up within, and keep letting go until it is all gone, then we can get a glimpse of who and what we are. Mind and feelings are just a cover-up of what we really are. Most people are too happy playing the game of limitation. That is okay. But once the thwarted will and desires are resolved we can see the Self. When the mind is totally let go of we will be forever in freedom. But to think that we can intellectually work this out keeps us in the illusion, because the mind is only an instrument of illusion. It is a tool we can throw out. Will we choose to drop the habits that run us; drop the feelings and trying to figure it out? It is our destiny to wake up from our dream and return to the One. So, see you there!

3.0 out of 5 stars if you know anything about enlightenment... December 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The book is okay. Nice read. But I read a story where a man gained enlightenment and took all his books and burned them. Why? Everything you need is within you. I think this means that the first step is to not buy a lot of books that tell you how to gain enlightenment. Oops.

The author uses humor and simplicity to write about enlightenment making the profound easy to understand. I would highly recommend this book to not only young souls just starting their search but to old souls who want to review the basics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spot on June 9, 2014

There is a stream of consciousness flow to the writing. The style is quirky, but it lends a feeling of honesty to the message. And that message is really beautiful and helpful.
