2.0 out of 5 stars Trees? Forest?
This is a book made from an art exhibition in California of three artists. It is well bound and professionally done. The book is done in three separate sections, one for each artist. There are many nice works showcased. I bought this book thinking there would be more nature works; however, there were not. So, remember kids, don't judge a book by it's cover!

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Sensitive are the Three Trees, September 21, 2007
This review is from: Three Trees Make a Forest (Hardcover)
Del Carmen, Uesugi and Tadahiro are the roots to the trees in this graphic rainbow of magic they have published. I only wish I could have seen the show it was from. I love the sensibility, the drawing, the passion and love you can feel in the intuitive glory of the work. Even if you are not an artist your mind will understand these three geniuses, and who they are as people.

I recommend that every commercial artist have a copy next to their drawing tables, with the tea, open window and Autumn breeze. That is the mood this collection creates.
It's worth your time, your money and your creative soul to enjoy Three Trees...
...when you get the book, look at it under a tree and relax and you'll see why I took time to write this review.
As an artist, I am thrilled to own this work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous collection of artwork!, March 16, 2007
This review is from: Three Trees Make a Forest (Hardcover)
The artists featured in this book are super-talented. Every work re-produced is worth gazing at and will inspire you.

I bought this book because of Ronnie Del Carmen being a part of it, I ended up finding two more wonderful artists to enjoy.

This is a wonderful book with outstanding printing quality and design. Fans of all kinds of art could certianly enjoy this. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates drawing and painting skill and pretty pictures in general!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice book, lotsa hype, December 15, 2007

Not sure why all the hype. Perhaps that is why I expected huge but had to give it a four rating. Actually, some very beautiful, mysterious illustrations here by very talented artists.

These illustrations are simply wonderful. This book is great for everyone who loves images, whether it be used as a coffeetable book or for inspiration for artists. I keep mine within an armslength of my desk.

4.0 out of 5 stars Three Artists Make a Nice Book, June 27, 2009
This review is from: Three Trees Make a Forest (Hardcover)
Length:: 0:16 Mins

This book doesn't have anything to do with trees, although there are painted trees in some of the illustration. It's a very simple art book, an artistic expression of three artists, Ronnie Del Carmen, Tadahiro Uesugi and Enrico Casarosa. It collects the work they have created for an exhibition.

The small hardcover opens up to illustrations from Tadahiro Uesugi. He presents images of urban settings rendered in nice texture, form and lighting. They are basically snapshots of life. Enrico Casarosa, in his section, contributes watercolour portraits of women, with a few dynamic top down camera views. Finally Ronnie Del Carman with his dream girl Nina.

Lacking any stories (and depth), the art just represents themselves, certainly in a style not for everyone. I like Tadahiro Uesugi's work more as there are more detailed and he captures the mood well. Enrico Casarosa's sketches in the book don't really do it for me, his other book The Venice Chronicles is however absolutely wonderful.

Three Trees Make a Forest a beautiful coffee table book, but I would recommended it more to fans of these artists.

4.0 out of 5 stars beautiful, June 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Three Trees Make a Forest (Hardcover)
i only bought this book for uesugi's drawings as I am a big fan. Definitely worth it. However i was a bit disappointed by ronnie del carmen and enrico casarosa's submissions as they were all very rough sketchy kind of illustrations that looked like they had taken several minuted to do compared to the intricate details and colors in uesugi's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great compendium, August 23, 2009
This review is from: Three Trees Make a Forest (Hardcover)
I really enjoyed the style of the three artists. For myself, just 2 of them would be enough, but as I said, it's a question of like or deslike a drawing style. But I liked very much. Great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrationists, March 30, 2009

Originally purchased to see Tadahiro Uesugi's work but enjoy all. Not many places to see Uesugi's work in print. I'm not qualified for analysis and critiques - just love perusing this book and passing along to friends.

Okay, my review title is a little sappy. But this collection of artwork is absolutely outstanding. Every page holds a little gem. Ronnie Del Carmen, Tadhiro Uesugi & Enrico Casarosa are design geniuses. This book does not disappoint.
