This concept of having opposing views state their position and then give an opportunity to the others to rebut works well for me. Personally weary of being spoon fed so much poor theology I am of the mind this format should be used more often. Its also an opportunity to hear from people you may not previously have been aware of. I especially enjoyed Douglas Moo's honesty and all the three writers mutual treating of the others with respect was refreshing. You cannot help but learn from this book and the format!

This is a re-publication of an earlier work. The added time has allowed the authors (2 returning and 1 new) to bring new research and fresh thinking to an age-old question: "When will the Lord return and establish justice on Earth and what is the Church's role?" The format allows the authors to not only present their cases for pre-tribulation rapture, pre-wrath rapture, and post-trib rapture, but also to interact with each other's arguments providing ample data for interested readers to develop their own belief in regard to End Times.

Anyone that is studying eschatology will ultimately find himself reading this type of book where various views are discussed. The good thing about this book is that the views are actually presented by scholars that hold to those views. The only negative thing is that the editor/publisher could have perhaps found a scholar that was a little more aggressive in the defense of one of these views. The normal arguments behind each view is adequately presented, but one could wish for a little more than "normal."

This book is ok at providing an argument from each position, but that is what you will get, an argument from each. Blaising particularly disappoints in his entry, as he tries to separate the argument for a pre-tribulational rapture from its dispensational underpinnings. Paul Feinberg was a much better defender of this view in the previous incarnation of this book, which was released in 1996. This is an update that doesn't particularly surpass the original.

The book does a fantastic job of outlining the views, but there are times where the authors go off-topic. Interestingly enough, this book also offers a rejoinder to the rebuttals, allowing the author of the view to have to final say. Helpful indeed!

This book gives a fair and balanced presentation of the three most prevalent views on the Rapture. Given the often contentious nature of this subject, it was quite refreshing to have three great scholars contend civilly...as iron sharpens iron!

To have a whole book written on this drawn out topic was unnecessary and the information given could have simply been summed up and placed as a short chapter in a book on the entire end times. A waste of your time to read.
