4.0 out of 5 stars Not for Kids, April 13, 2007

I was given this as a gift, I collect knives and have several stylish ones such as this. Overall it's a good knife...if that term really applies. It's more of a good "ritual killing" instrument, LOL.

First, the good. It is sturdy enough to do some serious damage to whatever you hit it with. The blades are firmly mounted and do not seem likely to fall off or break off without some serious misuse, such as trying to cut a tree down with it. The blades are razor sharp and quite capable of inflicting a serious injury if you're not careful. The "hooks" on the back are not honed to an edge, but the points are sharp enough. Overall, a good knife to hang on the wall and admire.

The bad... Do NOT hand this to a child, or anyone that's convinced they're a ninja. The hooks on the back, being pointy as stated above, are easily capable of snagging your forearm. Because the handle/grip is a bit large (I'm 6 feet tall, don't have tiny hands), it's hard to grip the thing hard enough to avoid some twisting if you hit something, whether stabbing or slashing. Also, mine came with the mounting board set up a bit wrong, so that the plastic "sleeves" holding the tips of the blades in place when mounted were misaligned. The middle blade had been forced to the left, making it off center by an inch or two. Although the sight of that was dismaying, I was able to re-mount the sleeve and get the blade to straighten back up...after about a month of pressure.

All in all, worth a buy if you like the look of it and like these types of knives in general. It's sharp as any knife I've seen in this catagory, sharper than most. It also can take some abuse, but again, I wouldn't hit it on walls and such...although it will go through drywall. Worth the price if this kind of thing is what you like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Back-Scratcher!!, October 12, 2008
This review is from: Three Blade Wolverine inspired Pantera Claw by Tom Anderson (Misc.)
I've got quite a bit of hair on my back. And my arms don't bend the way they used to. So I needed some help in reaching certain areas when an itch would drive me MAD!! I saw this on Amazon and HAD to get it.

Knowing that it wasn't super-heavy-duty and, therefore, couldn't cut through bone or steel, I thought I'd be safe with it as a back-scratcher. Let me tell you, this thing works GREAT!! Just slip your fingers through the holes (like a pair of brass knuckles) and dig away at that hard-to-reach spot right between your shoulderblades with ease! At times I find myself using this item to scratch at easy-to-reach places as well, just because it feels SOOOOOOOO good!!

This also can be used as a bagel/roll slicer, perfect for those moments when all the knives in the drawer won't even cut a fart. Grandmother loves using it while she knits, and gramps loves how it helps clean his dentures.

I highly recommend this item to everyone, even kids! The importance is learning safety and how to be responsible. You'll certainly learn your lesson after a few cuts...I did!!
