This is NOT death metal!, February 4, 2005

Some yin yang reviewed this MCD as "death metal", which it most definately is NOT. This is Usurper when they still RULED. The vocals, at least half of the time, sound exactly like Tom Warrior of Celtic Frost (even the "oooh ah" thing), and the other half it's classic Scandinavian style screeching, with blast beats, etc.
The second song is a great heavy metal, crushing riffish thing with Celtic Frost style vocals. The other songs mix up the "classic" sound with the "extreme black metal" sound. This is really a treat, and if you can come up with the twenty bucks or so it will take to procure a copy of this, then do so NOW.
This was mostly recorded during the sessions which produced Usurpers only other great album; Diabolisis. Chech 'em both out, regardless of the cost, and you'll be METAL!!

Great grinding death metal. Even a cover of a Mercyful Fate tune. ne of the primier death metal acts in the US (and they're from my home state!).
