5.0 out of 5 stars The title says it all!
For the past 2 years, I have read nothing BUT Jackie Collins, not in any particular order. This is my absolute favorite of the non-Santangelo novels! The characters, good or bad, are very interesting, the events are paced very well. Nothing is EVER boring here. Lara & Joey are loveable characters, the book twists and turns and is hard to predict. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not Jackie's Best
I like Jackie's novels for the pure entertainment. This one just doens't live up to her other books. Our heroine Lara was just not that interesting and I didn't really feel good about Joey either. It is okay, but her other books are so much better that I would not bother with this one.

I think the author did an excellent job with this book. I am a big Jackie Collins fan and I was not disappointed with "Thrill". I found the relationship w/Joey and Lara very touching. Eventually everyone got what they deserved. EXCELLENT READING!!!!!!!!!!

Jackie Collins has been known for a long time for writing explicit novels with very sexual characters and portaits that possess steamy moments of passion and heart-break. Nowhere is this more evident than in her 1998 book "Thrill!".

The novel deals with the beautiful love affair of Hollwood actress Lara Ivory who falls for the very young and sexy Joey Lorenzo. Their relationship is put to the test multiple times as the couple faces obstacles brought on by Joey's mysterious, darken past.

Sex, drugs, illicit affairs and crazed characters with sordid problems are the order here and are written the only way Miss Collins knows how to write them: with splendid nail-biting suspence and glamour with Hollywood as the backdrop.

1.0 out of 5 stars A book you'll regret wasting your time on, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Thrill! (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read a couple of Jackie Collins' books and so far not impressed, especially not with this one. First of all, the whole story seems no way possible to have happened in the modern days of 21st century. The story is rather corny and the main characters are not even that likable at all. I feel no connection what so ever with any of the characters in this book and I definitely don't understand the strong attraction between "Lara" and "Joey", a fragile naive female movie star, and a twisted minded, selfish, sell-out ass-kisser? Come on! Do you ever read a book or watch a movie/TV show and just want to yell to the ppl in it" How can you be so stupid?!" While then this book fits that scenario.

I really enjoyed this book! I lost myself, I had so much fun reading it. If you feel like just reading a fun book, try this one. Jackie Collins is a wonderful writer.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Her Best, June 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Thrill! (Hardcover)
In fact, one of my less favorite of her books, down there with "American Star" and "Rock Star". Especially a drag as a followup to the un-put-downable "Revenge". I figured out who the evil stalker was about 1/3 through, maybe even before that. Very predictable, which is too bad, because one of the things I love most about her writing are the unpredictable twists her stories will take. It seems like her books are either extremely predictable, such as this and that LA miniseries she put out, or absolutely top rate w/twists you absolutely don't see coming. No middle of the road. Unfortunately, this is one of her more dissapointing ones. But even lame Jackie Collins is better than none at all, and the character based on Kevin Costner was rather amusing. My advice? Wait for paperback and buy Dangerous Kiss in hardcover if you want Collins at her sleazy, fun best. This one is blah.

2.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly tame and rather boring., June 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Thrill! (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked this up at the airport for a quick read, but this book was surprisingly bloodless. The characters never stick to my mind, and the plots are hysterically ludicrous. There's not even great bedroom scenes to compensate for my wasted time. Oh well.

I enjoyed this book, but it wasn't as good as some of her earlier books like Chances, Rock Star, Hollywood Wives, etc. But it was enjoyable, I would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another five stars for Jackie Collins!, July 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Thrill! (Hardcover)
I read Thrill in one night. I could not put this book down. The love story centers around good girl Lara Ivory. She falls in love with a semi-typical bad boy. Each thread in this carefully woven story plays a very important part. Every character is essential to this novel. As always, Jackie Collins has given us a suspenseful, page turning love story for the nineties. If you loved her other novels, you'll love Thrill.
