5.0 out of 5 stars an outstanding romance
Lori Wilde does a tremendous job of leaping from Harlequin Duets to Harlequin Blaze as she delights readers with her final installment in "The Bachelors Of Bear Creek" series and she not only gives readers a thrill to remember, but a book they'll never forget.

Lori Wilde does a tremendous job of leaping from Harlequin Duets to Harlequin Blaze as she delights readers with her final installment in "The Bachelors Of Bear Creek" series and she not only gives readers a thrill to remember, but a book they'll never forget.

Caleb Greenleaf has secretly been in love with his best friend's older sister for as long as he can remember. Believing that he didn't stand a chance, Caleb kept his love a secret and painfully watched her marry his brother. No woman has ever been able to take her place in his heart or make him stop thinking about her, until the night of the masked ball. That's where he saw her, dressed as Klondike Kate. He doesn't know who she is, but he can't stop thinking about what it would be like to have her under him, surrounding him, loving him.

Meggie Scofield has always thought of Caleb as a younger brother. Now that she has divorced his brother, he has become one of her best friends. So, why all of a sudden does she find she can't stop thinking or dreaming about him?

With a little encouragement from her friends, Meggie decides she needs a fling with a stranger to help her get over her feelings of inadequacy from her divorce. And what better place to find him than at the Masquerade Ball? Almost immediately, Meggie is drawn to the mysterious and oh-so-sexy Don Juan. He sends chills up her spine and thrills her like no man has in a long time. No man except Caleb, and that is only with the looks he gives her.

After an earth-shattering interlude at the Skater's Cabin, Caleb is shocked to discover that the masked lady who managed to take his mind off of Meggie-is Meggie. And she wants to continue this torrid affair. Only Meggie still hasn't figured out that her lover, Don Juan, and her best friend, Caleb, are one and the same.

Caleb loves Meggie enough that he will continue this charade in order to be with her, but what will she do once she realizes that Caleb lied to her? That Don Juan and Caleb are the same man? Will she let Caleb go or will she consider herself lucky and chase after the only two men who have been able to give her a thrill to remember?

With charming and romantic characters who manage to sweep you right along with them on their road to love and happiness, Lori Wilde wows readers with A Thrill To Remember. She astounds me at her ability to create charmingly funny Duets and thrilling and exciting Temptations at the same time. She easily makes the transition from Duets to Blaze, not only as an author, but with her characters as well and she manages to expertly weave her characters from one to the other in the blink of an eye without losing anything in the transition. If anything, she does it with ability that amazes this reader. Lori does a wonderful job of portraying Caleb as a sensitive, yet highly desirable man without making him seem wimpy, but rather as a man that any woman would drool over and fantasize about. And believe me, I have had a few of those.

With A Thrill To Remember, it's almost as if Lori is able to see deep inside you and wrestle your deepest, darkest desires from inside. She has created a totally outstanding romance with characters and a storyline that seems to invade your heart and soul. She delivers a story that pulls you along for its magnificent ride on the path to true love and the sparks and fireworks that come with it.

A talented writer, Lori Wilde has her pulse tuned to what readers want and she delivers. A Thrill To Remember is a must read this holiday season.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling! Highly recommended, February 4, 2003
This review is from: A Thrill to Remember (Harlequin Blaze, No 66) (Paperback)
The last of the Bear Creek bachelors meets his soulmate at the Bear Creek masquerade ball. Caleb Greenleaf finds that a mask allows him to explore his sensual side as he dresses like Don Juan and captures the attention of a mysterious and sexy woman dressed as Klondike Kate. Following an especially erotic encounter, Caleb asks the mystery lady for her phone number and quickly realizes that she is none other than the girl who married his brother.

Following her divorce, Meggie Scofield yields to her friends' encouragement, dressing in the risqué image and strutting her stuff at the ball. She finds her costume liberating, and allows her usual barriers to drop for an evening. She assumes she will never see Don Juan again, although he vividly lives in her fantasies. A call six weeks later soon lands her in quite the conundrum when Don Juan reappears in her life just as her old friend Caleb arrives in town, and soon the fireworks begin.

While readers may recognize the familiar plot device of deception and masking, author Lori Wilde adds refreshing detail and erotic possibility in A THRILL TO REMEMBER. As Caleb suffers through the ethical dilemma of maintaining the illusion of strangers, he savors the opportunity to enjoy the seductive fantasy where reality and dream merge in something profoundly erotic. Wilde's mesmerizing style easily sweeps readers into her alluring world of sensual pleasure. Certainly, readers will find this novel A THRILL TO REMEMBER. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A definite keeper!, May 6, 2004
This review is from: A Thrill to Remember (Harlequin Blaze, No 66) (Paperback)
Meggie and Caleb have been friends since childhood, and she is the ex-wife of his stepbrother. When they both attend the same costume party, they end up sharing a passionate tryst. Initially, neither of them has any idea who the other is. Once Caleb realizes that the mystery woman is Meggie (who he's always had feelings for), he continues the charade and the sexual adventures.

I did think it was somewhat unbelievable that Meggie never figured out who this mystery man was. She's known Caleb all her life, but all it took was a mask, a false mustache, and a fake accent to make him unrecognizable. In addition, I normally dislike `sibling swapping' stories (okay, it was a *step*brother, and they're now divorced, but still...).

However, the book was so entertaining and well written that I was more than willing to overlook those things. I loved the characters, and the `live out your fantasies' portions of the book (and they were numerous) were hot, hot, hot. I highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fantasy Never Looked So Good!, November 24, 2005

A Thrill To Remember is one story I won't be forgetting anytime soon!

Meggie Scofield is ready to walk on the wild side. Divorced and needing a little boost in the desire department, she impulsively gives in to her attraction to a masked Don Juan at a masquerade ball. Little does she know that her lover is Caleb Greenleaf, her ex-husband's stepbrother!

Only after their hot encounter does Caleb realize who Meggie really is...and that he's just had one hot encounter with the object of several years worth of sexual fantasies!

Fantasy is the theme here as the story unfolds, bringing Meggie and her always masked Don Juan together again and again, each encounter sexier, hotter, and riskier than the last.

But when Caleb and Don Juan BOTH appear in Meggie's life, she finds herself torn between fantasy and reality. Which does she want more? Hot, passionate sex with a man who makes her feel desirable, or the friendship and building attraction for Caleb?

Caleb is torn as well, caught up in his own lies as he tries to be both men, then ultimately knows he has to reveal the truth by unmasking himself.

A Thrill to Remember is more than just a story about sex games. It's a novel about being true to yourself, setting your own passionate nature free, and finding the courage to go after what you really want...even if you have to wear a mask to do it. Sexual liberation at its finest.

Lori Wilde's amazing ability to blend the erotic with the every day is always a delight, and a Thrill To Remember delivers on every level.

Dude, this novel hits the nadir of what literature can be, a hopeless, gooey mess of half-baked sensuality and ridiculous dislogue. GOD, is this bad!
