5.0 out of 5 stars Thank Goodness., October 4, 2001
By Ryan (Earth) - See all my reviews
Thank God for New End Original. Members from previously great bands, Far and Texas Is The Reason, join up to make the best album I've heard in a very long time. Great riffs, great vox, just all around god music. Some is reminiscent to Far, but New End is really just a style all their own. This is a very good album by a very good band and if you love rock, you'll love Thriller. Buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome... Plain and Simple, February 14, 2002
By BMD (AZ) - See all my reviews
I thought the record was brilliant, stunning, shimmering and glorious. As with Far and onelinedrawing- who, contrary to the opinion of Rodeo Jones, I found to be anything BUT mediocre especially when you get to see him live at Skrappy's in Tucson, (Jonah rules!)- the songs are largely hit-and-miss, but overall, I think Thriller by New End offers something for fans of both Far and onelinedrawing. It serves up re-recorded, and often drastically different versions of the songs Halo, Better Than This, and 14-41 to Jonah-hungry onelinedrawing fans and offers the harder emo-core edge of Far while adding some completely new stylistic elements that could potentially appeal to an even wider audience. While we may disagree about onlinedrawing, I definitely share Rodeo Jones' opinion that this record ranks up there with Dredg's Leitmotif in terms of groundbreaking awesomeness. A staple for any fan of Emo-Core, hell, it's a staple for anyone who hates boybands. In fact, I would say that not buying this record amounts to nothing short of an exlpicit declaration of undying love for teenie pop. It's time to pick sides, which one are you on?

Altogether, a very solid CD. Although I could do without the occasional whining, the rest of the CD makes up for it.
