Editorial Reviews

Georgia's own, From First To Last, are back with their 5th studio album dropping March 16th, and a new label to call home. From First To Last have tightened their grip and are sinking their teeth in even further with "Throne to the Wolves", the highly anticipated album that marks their return to the indie music scene. The momentum from these juggernauts has only increased. Despite the impressive length of their discography, From First To Last are assuring us they've only begun to show us the onslaught of rock that is headed in our direction.

Wow, completely blown away by this album. I have been anticipating this release for quite sometime and its safe to say that I was in no way disappointed. First off, the title of the record says it all; a brutal and aggressive album that is fantastic throughout. If you're a fan of this band's previous efforts, I strongly recommend that you give this record a try. It has elements of all their other releases and Matt's vocals are truly captivating and fit perfectly. Lyrically, it shines beautifully, one of my favorite lines are " What will people think now that Christians bought up hardcore and Disney owns the punk scene?", from the opening track. The song, "I'll Inoculate The World With The Virus Of My Disillusionment" in my opinion, is pure lyrical genius, definitely one of my favorites.

Overall, a great, yes great, not good, but great release from these guys. This record shows a lot of maturity and growth and is without a doubt worth buying.

For a band that's been around quite awhile, its good to hear change from. This album is right up there with heroine, hard hitting, accomplished and dignified. I knew from hearing their bonus track off the album "Dear Diary, My Teenage Angst Has a Body Count" that they always wanted to try something new, and this new sound is exactly what will bring them new fans as well as appreciative smitten fans.

It's not more melodic, par se', but changes direction sporadically, change ups as well as definitive choruses are adequately arranged throughout. Not necessarily screamo, i would say it's pretty darn close to prog metal something or other. I hear a bit of influences from bands like Coheed and Cambria and Every Time I Die. From their previous albums i would have never thought to associate those acts with FFTL, but this is genre bending. A great comeback from a stellar band, a well deserving 9.5 out of 10.

From First to Last is my favorite band tied with Green Day. This album is heavier than past albums, but still has catchy songs and good lyrics. I don't have a favorite individual song from this album. It's one of those where you just listen to the whole album by itself if you know what I mean. Okay probably not, but still, it's a great album, and I'm so sad that they are on hiatus aka probably broken up forever :( The guitar on this album sounds awesome, and also the cover art is nice. You should definitely buy this album!
