So your kids have learned the great Old Testament stories from Sunday School, Bible picture books and/or Veggie Tales. Now what? If you're like us, you want to teach your children that the Bible is more than a collection of fun stories. This book is a good curriculum (and the only one we could find) for studying the Bible. It isn't interpretation, life application, or commentary--just the Word of God with quizzes, puzzles and maps to reinforce the facts of what you've read.
If you are homeschooling using the Classical method (a la The Well Trained Mind), this book integrates perfectly in the second stage of the trivium. The book divides the Bible into 4 one-year sections (approximately one chapter per day) and tracks pretty well with the 4 year division of history. We do history and Bible right next to each other in the evenings and my kids really like to see the overlap between secular history and biblical history.
Whether you are homeschooling or not, the book is a great resource to keep you accountable to getting into the Word every day and to ensure that you and your kids are paying attention to what you're reading!
