Interesting book and great CD,
By Up North (upstate, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Through a Dog's Ear: Using Sound to Improve the Health & Behavior of Your Canine Companion (Hardcover)
Since adopting a rescued dog with separation anxiety, I have come to know a lot of the canine soothing strategies and music. This book is filled with fascinating information about how both dogs and humans respond to the sound in our environment. The CD Through a Dog's Ear is my favorite of the 10 or more canine soothing CDs I now own. Not only do the dogs seem to enjoy it, every person who has heard it has commented on how relaxing the music is. I rotate through my other canine soothing CDs, but this CD stays in the CD player all the time.

I love this CD! And so do my dogs! Wow, its so great. Very relaxing music, so I can enjoy listening to it too. Within 20 minutes of putting this in, all three dogs - even the hyper puppy - are laying down and chilling (: And believe me that is a rare moment in a house with 3 dogs. What a great tool for problems like separation anxiety too. I can't wait till they come out with more!

This review is from: Through a Dog's Ear: Music to Calm Your Canine Companion, Volume 1 (Audio CD)
Since we have been using this cd my dog's are calm when we come home after a long 8-9 hours at work. In the past they were restless and tense waiting for us. They got into things and seemed lonely. Now they are peaceful and calm. They only start to get excited after we are home. This sure beats giving my one dog a doggie prosac to keep here calm to help her separation anxiety.. The trick is to put it continuous repeat all day.
