The writing of Through The Eye of the Eagle began more than seven years ago. At that time I was living in a small town in Connecticut, and through a spiritual connection I was led more than a thousand miles away, to Northern Ontario, and eventually to Eau Claire Gorge. There I was introduced to the spirit of Wishna-hea herself. By no means was there any subtly to this introduction. She came to me with a power that was so consuming that I found myself clinging to an ancient White Pine that leaned precariously out over the Gorge itself. From the depths of me came a scream that was muffled only by the roar of the gorge, itself, as this strange energy overwhelmed me. A short time later, I left my home in Connecticut to live on the lands where Wishna-hea once called her home. After my first long Canadian winter, in near isolation on the pristine Smith Lake, the book was nearly completed. Day by day, I shared in the agonies and ecstasies of Wishna-hea as I hammered away at depicting the legend, as only she would have told it. Upon nearing the completion of the book, I became filled with dread as the predictable ending that I had envisioned vanished. Instead, the story concluded exactly as the lives of the characters really had, tragically, but yet filled with hope. The writing of Through The Eye of the Eagle, the Legend of Eau Claire Gorge, was the beginning of my spiritual enlightment. It started with gaining an understanding of Native Spirituality but soon led me to the path of my Celtic ancestry where I discovered many of secrets of the Sacred Teachings. These teachings were opened to me for the purpose of sharing with others their complexity, but also their simplicity. I extend an invitation to you that will enable you to explore the possibilities that become opened through a greater spiritual understanding.
