Richard Dean shows a dark side,
By A Customer
This review is from: Through the Eyes of a Killer [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I saw this television movie when it first came out. If fans are expecting to see the sweet non-violent MacGyver they are in for a surprise. Richard Dean shows us his versitality as an actor in his portrayal of a master builder with a dark, obssesive side. The new tenant hires handyman Richard Dean to remodel her apartment. To no one's surprise she fall for Richard Dean, and he for her. However her new love turns to terror as she discovers her master builder has done more than remodel her apartment. There's one heck of an ending I won't spoil by revealing. This is a film definitely worth watching.

MacGyver's dark side is very sexy!!!!,

This movie just blew me away when I was expecting Richard Dean Anderson to be like MacGyver, but to my surprise he plays an evil twin of MacGyver. For fans who know him very well, when you see this movie you'll be in a surprise to see him different than his usually goody-to-shoe. In this movie he's bad and that makes him very sexy. This is a good movie, I've seen it like a million times. It's a mustsee.

RDA is too convincing as a bad guy!,

This is the first movie I saw without him as the hero - he was perfect! His character manipulated the victim right from their first encounter. I was surprised that the movie didn't explore more into the couple's relationship. It had an R rating, so there was plenty of room to play around here. I will watch it again, when I want to see really great acting and a really "bad" bad guy!

I have to confess I was disappointed in the movie, after reading such positive reiviews. While I think RDAs portrayal of the villian is very well done, I don't think the character as a whole is very well developed. When he 'switches' to his darker side, it is so much of a change and so unexpected that it's not very believable. I think this is the one flaw in a plot that is otherwise very good. Marg Helgenberger is very believable, as are the supporting actors. Since I'm a big fan of RDA, I don't regret watching it, but I don't think it will become one of my 'watched 10x' collection.

Saw this to find out what RDA did before Stargate. It's OK, but it could have been much better. The actors are held back by a mushy story--not so much intriguing as confusing--a clumsy, generic script, and dirt-cheap production values.
RDA's character should have ben developed more. Is he an obsessed lover who went bad, or a bona-fide nut? If he's nuts, was he nuts from the start, or did the house do it to him? Oh, and the ending? Good, lord, what was that? "Woops, out of film...Eh, we'll just end it here, what the hell." A lot of interesting things could have been done here, but they weren't. File this under "RDA pays his dues."

A Fine Job of Acting,

I have to admit that I was very surprised when I saw this movie. After seeing Richard Dean Anderson play such a sweetheart of a guy in MacGyver I wasn't sure that he could play the role of a bad guy. But RDA was definitely very convincing in his role. His performance alone is reason enough to see the movie.

I loved this movie when I first saw it many, many years ago. I wrote down the name and have been searching for it since. Why doesn't the studio/company, make this available on DVD? I am sure I am not the only person who would purchase this movie. Maybe if enough people request it, they will finally do it!!!

The guy who played MacGuyver plays a totally different type of character in this well made tv movie. Excellent directing. They should make more movies like this for tv.

As an avid fan of the MacGyver series, I find Richard Dean Anderson superb in this twisted stalker/murder movie...a must to see for anyone who enjoys a good mystery!
