Editorial Reviews

Stone Sour are one of the most intriguing rock bands to hit the airwaves for some time. Not just because they feature two members of Slipknot (vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist James Root) or the fact the have been nominated for three Grammy awards in their time together, but because theirs is a sound that is truly beguiling: shade and light all in one. Through Glass is one of the more radio friendly tracks the band have on offer and very much in the vein of their previous radio hit `Bother' (from their first album). `Through Glass' is slated to follow in the footsteps of `Bother' and become the surprise radio hit of the year with the support of an attention seizing video and the band's first national tour of Australia this May. Don't let Stone Sour's harder edged pedigree fool you, `Through Glass' is a clear cut smash for all the right reasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm looking at you through the glass, March 25, 2007
This review is from: Through Glass (Audio CD)
This is the single for the World-Wide hit "Through Glass" by Hard Rock super group Stone Sour. With the release of 'Come What(ever) May' & a ton of sold out shows World-Wide including the infamous Family Values Tour with other Hard Rock greats Deftones & KoRn, It's not ranting to say Stone Sour is more than just a side project now. In fact several Slipknot fans are worried that the recent popularity may be the sign of Corey Taylor leaving the band to stay on as frontman of Stone Sour full-time, Doubtful but a def. possibility now.

This album is only a single and only contains 3 tracks. Two tracks which you can only get on this album which are "Fruitcake" & "Suffer". Both tracks are very much 'Stone Sourish', Meaning they sound similar to other songs on 'Come What(ever) May'. Though both have there own charm and any SS fan will enjoy them. Onto the spotlight track "Through Glass" easily Stone Sours biggest hit to date and for good reason. The song has a mellow flow and yet holds an anthematic theme due to the well written lyrics that any person could easily find themselves singing along to. Not to mention the song's meaning is one of good taste that we can all relate to. The song mainly is written about the 'fakeness' of Hollywood, Celebrities and 'Stars' of all sorts. In short you'll be singing the line "It's the stars, The stars that lie to you yeah yeah." in no time. I advise picking up this & 'Come What(ever) May' A.S.A.P.!!

Stone Sour has set the example of what it means to be a Rock`n`Roll group in todays age and has been opening doors between Rock & Metal since the release of there debut album. In my humble opinion Stone Sour are easily one of (if not the) best Hard Rock groups in the scene today. Thank You.
